Great for the price

Bonzo September 13, 2016

I've only had this for a week now but the workouts are great. This was rated as the best elliptical under $500.00 which greatly influenced my decision to buy this and when Walmart rolled back the price to under $300.00 it was a done deal. This machine is not for large people but for someone my size, 5'7", 155 lbs., this is ideal. Assembly was pretty easy although you might want to get a set of metric hex key sockets the wrenches provided aren't that great.

Love it!

Mommyofone August 19, 2016

I ordered this item online and it was received in good condition on the expected arrival date. The box was rather large and heavy but it had some plastic straps on it so I was able to move it upstairs by myself. The box weighs 112 lbs. The instructions were pretty clear and all the necessary tools were included. It took me about 2 hours to put it together. It gives a good quality workout with little noise. The stride length seems about right for me. I'm 5'5". If you are much shorter the machine may be too big for you. The calorie count does not seem accurate and there is no way to change the standard weight for it to be accurate.

Great, quiet exercise machine!

JudyLV November 11, 2016

This elliptical is just as good as the one I use at the gym. It has different modes and you can set the timer to do a workout for as long as you'd like. So, if you're in a easy, tough, easy, tough workout, it will shorten or lengthen the full workout accordingly. It is very quiet. My husband can watch TV in the same room while I'm working out and not have to turn the TV up at all. I've only been using it for a week, but can feel my body getting stronger and I'm feeling better physically as well. It is well built and relatively easy to put together. It took my husband about an hour by himself while I helped by reading the directions and handing him some of the parts. This is a great buy!

This is the perfect elliptical if you want a smaller sized, cheaper elliptical but still value a great workout. I put it together by myself in about two hours, installation was made easy by the very organized parts and easy to read instructions. I love all the different pre-programmed workouts to choose from. The machine is very sturdy, especially for the price. If you are looking for a smaller and cheaper elliptical, I would highly recommend this.

I wish I bought it sooner

Susa October 1, 2016

This is a good elliptical. Makes very little noise. Received it within a week after I placed the order. It took about 2 hours to assemble. Only thing that I don't like is that it needs electricity. Now a power cord extends in the middle of the room.

Arrived with a defective component

atlascesar December 26, 2016

Shipped and arrived on time. Fairly straight forward to assemble, but the speed sensor was completely misaligned. This caused the computer to effectively shut off after 30 seconds (since it didnt not detect motion). Now it will take 2.5 extra weeks waiting for the new part to ship, and then for the repairman to come fix it.

Great elliptical for great price!

KAT90 December 31, 2016

I'm very pleased with this purchase. It's nice and quiet but very solid and sturdy. Putting it together was a little more difficult than my husband and I anticipated, but now that it is put together, we are very happy with this purchase!

After less than a month of use, I'm having issues!

Chatons February 1, 2014

I previously owned the Schwinn 420 (now the 430) and loved it, but unfortunately couldn't keep it during a move. I finally decided it was time for another machine, so I bought this one, the Schwinn a40 (2013 model). I received and started using this machine on January 2nd, and am already having issues. More specifically, it's making this ridiculously obnoxious clicking noise. When I looked at the manual online, there is a problem/condition that states "Drive train click/tick noise once per full crank revolution", which is exactly the issue I'm having. The solutions they provide? Just replace some parts! I'm sorry, I shouldn't be having to replace ANYTHING after 3.5 weeks of slightly moderate use. While I wouldn't recommend this machine, there are a couple of good things about it. I guess this could be considered good or bad, but I like how lightweight it is (I think it's about 90 pounds). I am able to move it easily while I'm cleaning. And clicking noise aside the machine is surprisingly quiet, which makes it ideal for apartment living. THE BOTTOM LINE: Schwinn has some excellent models; this isn't one of them. I may be an unlucky seed, but I know I'm not the only one. I'd say you are better off saving up a few hundred bucks more and buying the 430- I had that elliptical (the older version of it) for almost two years with absolutely no issues.
