After purchase tracking information was provided. Delivered intact and on time by FedEx. Bicycle was damage and defective free, all parts enclosed. The treadless stem handlebar and quick release seat made assembly a breeze. After the handlebars are in place, don't forget to tighten the front pinch bolts. They arrive loose and the handlebars will twist while riding if you don't. It was very easy to put the front tire in place. The disc rotor fit in the brake caliper body smoothly. Assembly took less than 20 minutes. The bike is gorgeous, solid yet light. I expect this bicycle to last a long time. My first ride was fantastic, gears and brakes functioning perfect. I will probably buy another. High quality at a fantastic price.
Assembly was a bit tricky, but we got through most of it within a few hours. Had a minor issue with the front disc brake. I called Crystal at Schwinn Customer Care. She was polite, professional, and took ownership of the issue. The phone call took less than 15 minutes. Within hours...yes, hours...my problem was resolved. I am now enjoying this easy and fun to ride bicycle. Thanks to rainy weather, I have only ridden it less than a mile, but couldn't wait to report the positive customer care experience. I'm 6'2" tall which is right at the maximum height recommended. I'm quite comfortable riding this cool bike!
Great bike for someone who can't quite mount and dismount traditional male or female frame bikes. The wide tires really do make it a smoother and comfortable ride. The disc brakes are a nice bonus too. And honestly who needs more than the 7 speeds that are on this bike. The sear was surprisingly comfortable and I love that I am naturally upright when riding it instead of hunched forward. Don't overthink this guys, get this bike, you won't be sorry.
All the parts were delivered, my stepdad was able to out it together easily. Only thing is that the gear shift came in scratched and it bothers me a lot because of my ADHD lol. The handlebars are nice and high up so I'm not all hunched. Also, before I bought this bike, I was told by a walmart employee that I would be able to bring it in and have their bike company assemble it. Once it was delivered I called that Walmart location asking when the bike guy would be in and I was told it wouldn't be for at least a month because they're having problems with the bike company. Keep that in mind if you don't know how to assemble a bike.
The bike was delivered in a box with the bottom totally open. Had to remove it from the box to move it from where Fed Ex left it. Initially it appeared pieces were missing as a result, and directions were misleading regarding parts needed. Fortunately, the bike was not noticeably damaged, and went together fine. Would I order from Walmart again after this experience? No. If you have a problem with an order, 'chat' and email is not sufficient. And offering a 19 percent discount to buy replacement parts when not even Schwinn has them available, less so. If course, I could repackage the whole thing after having to take it apart to tell what was there, send it all back to Georgia and wait another three weeks to get one with all the pieces/no damage.
I really liked the look of this bike, and it rode nicely once on our flat street. Unfortunately I couldn't get the gear to shift above 4, because the tires are so wide (2.4') that the back tire rubs again the chain and preventing the gear from changing or going above 4. For me that is not good, because I need the higher gear to go up the hills in my neighborhood. Unfortunately, as much as the mechanic tried to work it, the chain continued to be so close to the wide tire, that you couldn't shift. so it's going back much to my chagrin (: It wouldn't take long for the tire to get a hole with the chain rubbing against it. Poor match of the frame with the tires. I actually think that smaller 2" tires would have worked well with the frame, but the 2.4" are too big for the gears to work properly with the frame. I gave it 2 starts, since I liked the design of the step through and the comfort of the handle bars and seat. Just very unfortunate that the gears and the tires weren't meant to go together. Shame on Schwinn. It used to be a quality name in bikes, but no more, as this is the second return that I have had to make with Schwinn.
I tried, twice. The bicycle came in a box absolutely ripped and retaped and opened (fedex). The front wheel had 4 spokes bent and 2 out of the rims, they sent me another one. The new one had 1 spoke a little bit bent and the paint with scratches. Either way I started to ensemble it, but the front suspension fork was bent or out of shape from the maker I guess, I still had the first one to return, so I checked the shape of the fork on the previous bike and it was out of shape also! It looks like it is a manufacturing defect. I really loved this bicycle, but there's no way to get at least one in a condition that you can use it. I just waisted so much time! I should get a compensation, this is ridiculous! PLEASE DO NOT BUY IT!
The service tech from Handy attempted to assemble this bike but the front wheel does not spin freely. He thinks the disc brake might be warped. I will have to take it to a bike shop to get a diagnosis. Very disappointing. A customer should not have to do this on a new bike. I might have to return it to Walmart.
Unfortunately, as another reviewer mentioned the front part of the bike is crooked. It doesn't seem to actually be bent, it seems to be welded incorrectly. This has to be returned since it cant even be assembled properly. Very disappointed. Don't waste your time with this one.
Received Bike looks nice, but front spoke was ripped from the wheel rim. Hence, the bike is being returned. Buying online, no real person to speak with just an AI chat - So, I regret buying thru Walmart.. The bike I bought was not in the store - so it will have to be shipped. Birthday Present. No Thanks!
