I am so very happy with this Ebike. The assembly went very easily and was done in about an hour. I love the color of the bike and the comfort while riding it. The wide tires make me feel very secure riding around my complex and in the park. All systems are very easy to navigate and the speeds are perfect for various situations. Charging the battery is very easy in that you don't have to remove from the bike to plug it in but you have the option to do so. The greatest thing is when I am riding the bike and going over different heights in the road the motor automatically adjusts the speed to keep it steady and assist with the changes so smooth I don't notice the changes. The battery has sufficient ability to go to the park about a mile from me and ride around then come home if I desire to use the battery and not pedal. Being a senior citizen the battery is a big plus with this bike as it makes it easy for me to get around and exercise. The way the bike is built it suits both men and women which is great too. I love this bike and am so happy I have it to go close to home without having to drive my car.
this is our first electric bike and we are happy to own one and here is why, ppl who love to ride different terrains with his but dont wanna put extra pressure on knees will understand me clearly - this is what we all need - its simply some extra help while driving up, and you still enjoying ride and scenery of beautiful nature, but not facing any pain! bike built so good, Quilty materials, easy to set up and charge relatively fast. in our fav blue color. now we are fighting with hubby who will drive it more often)
Just got our Schwinn Boundary Electric Mountain Bike 27.5 inch,18 speeds, 250 Watt Pedal Assist Motor, Blue recently. First of all, the bike was packed really secure. The instructions were ok, but could use more on controls operation. Seemed like it was written for multiple bike models. I am secure with assembling just about anything, so that was relatively easy. If you are not a good "do it yourselfer", then you should probably take it to a Schwinn Bike Shop, and let them do if for you. I even had a little problem with the adjustment of the front brake pads and it took a couple of hours. I charged the battery -- and it took a couple of hours, which was fast for the most part. I took it off the charger immediately when the green light came on. Good to keep a close eye on when charging for safety reasons (no matter what product). I took it out for a test drive. I used it on a level street to start, just to get the hang of it. The instructions did not tell how to use the drive controls, which I did not like. I had to just "figure it out on my own". I clicked the gears while pedaling to start. There are two controls on the Right side of handlebar. One clicks the gears up, and the other control clicks the gears down (regular bike gear selecting, no motor engaged yet). There is a electric control on the Left side of handlebar that turns the power ON for the motor (it also has the speed selector of 3 speeds). A really nice soft touch pad -- power control panel. I turned the power ON and had the Motor speed set at Low (start on low so you can get control while learning). Once I pedaled while these motor controls were turned ON, the bike surged forward. It was smooth to feel, -- but a little sudden, so hang on. It felt really fun. So I played with the other speeds while pedaling, wind in my hair and loving it. Later, I saw another separate slide type control lever on the Left of the handlebar (and without pedaling), I GENTLY SLIDE the lever (motor control ON still, and at my selected speed - Low in my case) and the motor engaged with no pedaling needed. So, you can get power with pedaling or without pedaling if you choose. The brakes were firm, and had really good stopping power. They are vented rotor brakes -- and are on the front and back wheels. The bike rides like a dream. I rode around the block and took a couple of really steep hills. I live in a hilly area, and the bike moved up the steep hills smoothly and strong. I forgot to mention that you can really go fast (downhill), so get familiar with the controls/brakes for safety reasons. If you hit the brakes the motor shuts off. That is really a great feature. I ALWAYS wear a safety helmet. The bike looks so nice with the perfect blue paint job. It is a quality thick paint job that is needed for a bike. Very good. The rims are a modern black look and are light weight. Light weight, but solid/strong rims. The only thing that I was a little let down with -- are the gears. There are alot of gear selections for the back tire sprocket. There is only one sprocket for the pedal crank. This makes for bad alignment of the chain. The mid and higher gears are OK. But when you go for the really low or really high gears, the chain does not align good, and makes a scraping sound of the chain on the sprocket. This could even cause the chain to derail. I feel there should have been two sprockets on the pedal/crank for better alignment. It is mostly for motoring, and not for riding with the crank, so it is not an issue if you are motoring. I like the mid gears anyway. Always have when biking. I like the ease of the pedaling on mid to higher gears. I store the battery in my fireplace just for safety sake. I did not want the battery in the hot garage. Store in the right temperature. I know the bike can be used up to 113F temperature, but I won't. I'll use the bike in moderate temperatures, and not work the motor all the time as well. So, I will pedal often to keep the motor from over working. I feel that I will get longer life of ebike by not over working it all the time. Overall, it is a well made ebike, and rides great. I will motor for a cup of coffee or do some local shopping with this ebike from Schwinn. Great for picking up a gallon of milk without using the car. This bike will save me gas money for sure.
This is my first electric bicycle and so far this type of bike has really impressed me. I already know Schwinn makes quality products and this bicycle doesn't disappoint. This is the first time I assembled a bicycle, the instructions were a little confusing, I wish the instructions were more clear for the model I received. Charging the bicycle was so easy to do. I like that the battery has a locking mechanism, great feature. Now I won't have to worry about someone stealing the battery while it's unattended. The pedal assist is new to me, I love it. Now I can bike longer distances, the battery life lasts longer than I expected. The bike can be used on all kinds of surfaces. I have tested it out on asphalt and dirt trails, each surfaces was easy to bicycle on. This bicycle is perfect for any type of adventure. The seat easily adjusts, I wish the seat was a little more comfortable though, maybe I just need to get used to this style of seat. I highly recommend this bicycle, it's great quality, looks impressive, very eye catching and it rides perfectly. Well done Schwinn!
This is my first electric bike and it's great! My fiance and I love to go on long bike trails together and wanted to get an e-bike for an easier ride. I love the power assist that kicks in when you're peddling, and the acceleration throttle is so much fun to use! It's a very smooth and fun ride. The charger conveniently uses a standard outlet and the bike itself charges quickly within a few hours. There's also a color coded battery light on the bike frame to indicate how much charge is left (blue for full, green for medium, red for low). The battery can be locked or removed with the included key set. I also like that the bike stands out with its vibrant electric blue finish. Assembly was pretty easy - it mostly came pre-assembled out of the box. The hard parts like brake cables and gears were already put together, so the only parts that needed to be assembled were the handlebars, seat, pedals, and front tire. It took us about an hour to put together while reading through the manual. It didn't come with any of the tools needed - while the instruction manual mentions a screwdriver and pliers, we got away with only using our Allen wrench set and adjustable wrench. The box it was delivered in was quite large and a little heavy so you may need help moving it if you're doing it by yourself, though it did have cutout holes in the box to help lift it. The only cons so far are that the bike seems a little too tall for me (5'7" female) with the seat all the way down even though it claims the height range for the 27.5" wheel size is for 5'4" - 6'2" riders. I'm hoping this can be adjusted more or perhaps fixed with a different seat!
My family couldn't be happier since we got this Schwinn Boundary ELECTRIC Mountain Bike, it has 27.5-inch Wheels and 18 Speeds. It is so much fun to ride. You can use it just like a bike and peddle or turn on the electric boost with just a click of a switch. No more getting tired going up hills. Don't worry if you are to tired to make it home. This bike is a blast!! Its changed the way of ridding a bike.
This bike is has been such a fun addition to my outdoor activities. The fact that you can use this bike as a traditional bike or kick in the battery power and coast on the electric component make this an absolute blast. The electric controls are very easy to use and the feeling of the electric power is smooth and fluid. The bike performs well on roads as well as bike trails around my house. Very easy to put together and feels sturdy and safe. Cant recommend it enough!
This bike is amazing! It's the first time I've ever tried a powered bicycle, and it's a game changer. I am 5'4 and this frame size was great for me. It's way to adjust for size, and I just love the look and feel of it.
I received the schwinn boundary electric mountain bike 250 watt pedal assist and we love it it rides smoothly and pretty fast for a 20 speed and goes over hills perfectly and smoothly definitely would recommend to my friends
Schwinn-Schwinn Boundary ELECTRIC Mountain Bike, 27.5-inch Wheels, 18 Speeds, 250-Watt Pedal Assist Motor is so cool. Definitely big enough I can ride with easy, very easy to put together and I can go miles on a charged battery.
