This thing is great. I was apprehensive of this being difficult or complicated to set up and use. I couldn't have been more wrong. I plugged it into my vehicle's 12v power outlet on the dash, found an empty FM band on my radio, turned the dial on the Scosche to match it, went into "setting" on my smartphone and tapped on "bluetooth". The Scosche unit showed up almost instantly. I tapped on connect, tapped again on the "permission" screen and the two devices connected within two seconds. I adjusted the volumes on my radio and smartphone, went into my phone's music library and started playing crystal clear music through my vehicle's FM radio. Anything that comes through your phone will come through your vehicle's radio. I called my home phone via the "Hey Google" assistant and the outgoing message from my home phone system was crystal clear and perfect volume through the radio. The quality of the message I left on my home answering system was good. The mic on the Scosche works well. When you interact with your phone, the music you're playing from your phone's library (or apps) cuts out and resumes when you're done interacting. I do advise you to turn the volume down on your radio when turning off or unplugging the Scosche. You have to adjust the volume louder than the normal volume for regular FM reception (though, again, it's absolutely crystal clear), so the volume of the "empty channel's" volume can be a little startling when you disconnect or unplug the unit. I have a phone holder on my steering wheel. I can now make and receive calls, ask for directions and listen to my shuffled music library with crystal clarity through my vehicle's FM radio completely hands free! Thanks for bringing me into the 21st century!
Can feel it is made of proper material not some cheap plastic. It plays louder than the other FM transmitters I have.
Works great! Sometimes you get areas where sound may cut out due to interference from the station you put it on, but it's actually really handy for audio. I don't think taking calls through it works the best but it could be to my phone settings.
Works great, virtually no latency.
He even has a super fast charger on it
Good pick up
The Scosche Universal Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kt is a neat and amazing little gizmo. I have a 1981 F150 pickup and a 1985 Plymouth Voyager. Both classic vehicles made long before smart phone were invented. I never thought that it would be possible to retro-fit anything that would give me the communications capabilities of the current electronics in modern cars today that would be affordable. However, here it is! This little device easily interfaced my smart phone with the radios of each vehicle by just plugging it into the cigarette lighter outlet and pushing a couple of buttons. At first I was somewhat hesitant getting one thinking there would be a lot of technical programming and setup to do, however that turned out not to be the case. There is a small 2 page instruction that says plug it in, push this button and tune that frequency on your radio and that was it. Amazing! I tested it out making and receiving several calls and it worked better than expected. The only downside is that the spring tabs on the side of the unit don't really give a good “snap lock” type of connection. This caused some intermittent power problems at time but that problem might also be attributable to the age of my connectors in the car. The good thing is that even if the power goes on and off, the instant the power comes back on, the thing picks up right where it left off without the need for any resetting anything. In all it's an amazing bit of technology packed into a relatively affordable and compact device.
This is an an excellent tool that is so functional and practical in today's smartphone world. This was so easy to set up using the car's power port. It works great with my android phone, allowing for handsfree use, which for certain is playing it safe. This unique device packs alot of punch, as it also allows for fast charging with dual USB ports, one USB-A & one USB-C. A microphone that clearly picks up voice commands via my voice assistant, totally enhances the handsfree use. Mobile devices without bluetooth can be connected using the AUX OUT port with the 3.5mm cable that comes with this unit. I highly recommend this for usability, funtionality and for sure safety.
The Schosche BTFMPD3SR-SP1 Universal Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit with Digital FM Transmitter is a Great Car Bluetooth for your car. This piece of equipment is perfect for your car, it is easy to set up and the sound is perfect through the speaker system of your radio. It is quick to setup and is ready to go within minutes. If you are looking for this type of equipment for your car, look no further, this is the one for you.
Good if you have an older car that is not Bluetooth. Set up can be a bit tricky as the info is not all that clear on how it is done and pairing is a pain as it can only have one Bluetooth at a time on so if you are like most of us and leave it on if someone else in the car is the driver and they want to use it you have to turn it off on your end for it to be used. Would recommend that you set a per set to the channel shown if you only use for calling.
