I use it to hold my Android phone and it holds it well. I have been using it for past 3 years without any issues. Order a new one for my second car. The suction is strong and it does not come out.
I used this once I started driving for Uber since I need to constantly be looking at my phone for ride requests and GPS directions. Depending on your dashboard texture you may have to move it around a bit, but I see no problem. I've had mine mounted on the dash for over a month and it still holds tight. I used both magnets on the back of my phone, actually inside my Otterbox case, for more area to attach to the mount. Not having it in a cradle makes it easy to pull off and put back on with the magnets. Also mounts well to windshield too. I use the dashboard more because I need to remove and replace often. I'm buying another one for our second car. Also much safer than having your phone laying in your lap or in your center console.
Exactly what I wanted. Previous one had a sticky/stick-on base so I had to leave it in the old car. love that this one can be moved around due to the suction base.
I have had great luck with this mount. I attached it to the windshield and it has remained after 2 months. The hot, summer weather may effect it. We will see. What is particularly excellent about it is the magnet. The metal plate provided slips inside your cell phone case between the phone and case back. The magnet is strong. The phone has never fallen off.
so far its working as advertised, suction cup is staying put on my slightly curved dash that doesnt have a smooth texture. It sits higher than I like, and I wish the bottom arm was adjustable. magnets so strong that the first time i went to adjust my radar detector, the magnet on the detector came off. Not a deal breaker though.
Overall works pretty well.
Purchased three days ago. The magnets do not hold well. The phone keeps sliding off. I originally had a wallet case for my iPhoneX. I had to purchase a regular case to work with this mount.. It will be worth the extra few dollars if MagicMount includes extra magnets. Or, you could sell the additional magnets in the store. I wasn't happy about waiting a week for extra magnets in the mail plus pay shipping cost.
The magnetic part works well but it fell off the dash 3 times in the first 30 minutes of use. Should have expected that for less than $15.
I bought this specifically because it said it mounted on the dashboard. After trying countless places to get it to stick on the dashboard, well near it in this case. I finally got it to stick near the glove compartment. That lasted all of 3 days and will not stick anywhere else now including the window. The magnet holding the phone onto the device works great, but that's about the nicest thing I can say about this. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK
Magnet on base holder not strong enough to hold phone. Tried two different phones to see if it was the case on first phone, but it wasn't. Suction cup mount is awesome, however if the phone won't stay attached to the base what is the point to product. DO NOT PURCHASE, not worth the money...such a bummer.
