I'm happy with this Scotch desktop tape dispenser. It is solid, heavy, and can be used only with one hand to cut the tape. The dispenser is compact and will fit nicely on any desk or counter. The black/chrome colors match virtually any décor and loading it with a refillable tape is easy as pie. As an office and home essential, I can honestly recommend this tape dispenser, and the price is a fantastic value for the quantity and quality received :-)

I got two of this Tape Dispenser for my daughters, they love them a lot, they work smoothly, the cutting part is not too sharp but yet do it's job very nicely, young kids love to glue and tape “artworks “ a lot, they always make a mess with glue, I prefer to clean up tape than glue. Overall, they are very safe for young kids to use, and look really cool !!!!

base not heavy enough

This works well but after many a few years the cutter has gone blunt and cannot find a replacement blade. Waste to think would buy a new one to solve the problem.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and appearance of this tape dispenser. It arrived quickly, in good condition. I had paid exactly the purchase price, $4.38, since I ordered enough other items at the same time to qualify for free shipping, even though the various items arrived separately. This dispenser has a new feature (for me): the spool that the tape goes on is part of a larger part which lifts up and out of the dispenser. A plus is that the spool can't get lost this way: it's permanently attached. And there's no fiddling to refit it: it just drops back in. The design was a surprise: the spool is part of a larger piece that lifts up out of the dispenser for replacing the tape. (See photo.) And you have to make sure it clicks back in place, or the whole thing will lift up when you pull on the tape. It's more convenient, but only time will tell if it holds up as well as the traditional design. I was replacing a 20-year old dispenser. The rubber on the bottom was deteriorating and leaving sticky black residue on desk tops. And the surface was eroding and allowing stains to take hold. I am very happy with my replacement, which will be in the kitchen/dining area and seen frequently.

This is a great dispenser, but as I can't get a replacement blade, I basically have to throw it away now that it no longer cuts the tape! What a waste of resources! The blade is clearly removable - why don't you sell replacements so I can continue to use this product? I won't be buying another one. :(

I liked that the tape holder is engineered so no one will accidentally throw it out. However, I wish it would lock in place so I can use one hand - it lifts up when I grab the tape making it difficult to quickly use again and again. I like my old one better.
