Scotts Turf Builder EdgeGuard DLX Broadcast Spreader for Grass Seed, Fertilizer, Salt and Ice Melt

Already put down the early spring bag, got good precision coverage with my new high high capacity spreader

Had the smaller Scott's spreader but with a 15,000 square foot lawn the larger model gets the job done much quicker.

Works perfectly for our yard size. The edge guard feature setting works great. Keeps the fertilizer off the driveway and walkway.

The spreader was pre-assembled and so easy to set up. The instructions were clear on how to set it so the correct amount of halts was applied. So far so good!

We have over 30,000 square foot of yard and this unit works perfectly The Edge guard is very important so you don't spray all over your driveway when you're doing the perimeter! It easily handles 40lbs of weed %26 feed fertilizer, and doesn't feel uncontrollable when full!

This is the best value proposition for a salt-spreader. Made of acrylic / plastic that can withstand corrosion while making it light-weight (versus metal). Assembled straight-out of the box. Straightforward design and intuitive operation.

Like the larger wheels and bin size on this unit. Seems to distribute well and nice option to close off the right side to protect flower beds. Used it twice so far, and I do rinse it out thoroughly to avoid corrosion and clumping, which makes them not work right if you don't clean it after each use. As with most plastics, do not leave out in sun, or it will become brittle and crack.

The spreader is fine. The weak part of the mechanism is the drive axle and gearing to the hopper agitator. It seems to be fine for light weight fertilizers. Heavier weight products are harder on this mechanism.

Like - light weight Dislike - The rotator keeps on hitting the Edge Guard, making it difficult to move the spreader forward and backward. Walmart delivered the item in a cardboard box during a heavy rain/snow storm. The box was socking wet and fell apart . I wanted to returned the item but there were no paper work to do so, and no cardboard box to return the item.
