Easy to install, awesome compact footprint
I wanted a second mount so I could move my stern light between my boat , canoe and kayaks without having to invest in another light, and opted for this compact mount as opposed to the rectangular footprint due to its shape. Total installation time was about 5 minutes. Scotty really put some thought into their design, and having been building custom parts for decades it's easy to tell when someone really cares about their work. Scotty clearly does, and makes truly innovative products that I am happy to pay for. What I really like is the fact that you can seal both the top and bottom ends of the mount from water- or one, or neither- it's your choice. Since my kayaks and canoes will be getting wet from splashing a little extra water's not an issue, but to mount this on some other boat the owner might be concerned with rain water, etc. so it might matter and the options are there. Highly recommended for both value and function!
