Scream 2 – 4K UHD Review
Picture Quality The 4K transfer is a major improvement over all previous releases. It is sourced from a new 4K restoration. The image is noticeably sharper with much better detail, especially in daylight and classroom scenes. Film grain is intact and natural, preserving the original cinematic look. Colors are richer and more accurate. Black levels are deeper, though a few dark scenes still show softness due to the original photography. Bottom line - This is the best the film has ever looked. HDR / Dolby Vision The disc includes HDR10 (and Dolby Vision on some editions). HDR improves contrast and highlight detail, especially in stage lighting and nighttime shots. Not overly stylized—retains a natural film appearance. Audio Quality The 4K release reuses the same DTS-HD MA 5.1 track as previous Blu-rays. There is no new Atmos or upgraded mix. Still, the existing track is clear, balanced, and effective, with Crisp dialogue. Good use of surrounds in crowd/chase scenes Solid but not overpowering bass during jump scares Bonus Features Mostly legacy special features carried over. Overall Presentation While the audio remains unchanged and extras are familiar, the video upgrade alone makes this a must-own for fans. The 4K restoration brings out the best in the sequel's cinematography and gives Scream 2 a fresh, cinematic life. Verdict: Highly Recommended (for the visual upgrade alone) ✅ If you own previous editions, the 4K transfer still justifies the upgrade. Fans of the franchise and collectors of 90s horror will not be disappointed.

If you are a fan of the original Scream movie you will love the sequel. The 4K transfer looks great and if you find the movie on sale I highly recommend picking it up.

SCREAM 2 is still a fun watch, if not quite as fresh as Wes Craven's first entry in the franchise. This 4K is definitely an upgrade from the blu-ray.
