First of all you need to realize what this monitor is and isn't. I purchased it knowing it has no speakers and no USB ports. This is a business monitor and very bare bones which suits my needs perfectly. The monitor has vga and dvi inputs as well as a display port, that plug is similar to hdmi, but not quite the same. There are various adapters if you must use hdmi, but I am not going in to the details. Using the display port, the colors and refresh rate are great, also it functions well in both portrait mode as well as landscape by adjusting the display settings on your computer. I have not tested the vga or dvi inputs. For the price I do not believe you will find a better bare bones monitor if that is what suits your needs.
This is a great monitor to connect to my laptop - resolution is good and the auto feature on the monitor will make setup a breeze. Great price, too - the same as the employee discount from HP, who sells the monitors, with quicker, FREE delivery - go figure... I did purchase the 2 year warranty for $9, since it was so inexpensive!
Only been using it for a few days so far I like it the only thing I don't like about is the color. Nothing wrong with it, it's just my preference that I like a warmer color, the white it a little too blue for my liking but this is true for all LED backlit monitors and the warm setting is too much. So i had to turn the blue and green down a little to try to get a warmer color tone. My old monitor was some unknown Chinese brand I bought 15 years ago and still going good but it wasn't wide screen and it had a fluorescent backlit that was warmer than LED's . I usually sit in a dimly lit room at night so I had to really set it to give me the color i wanted with brightness and contrast way down or ware sunglasses :) The color settings can get a little tricky to set, so set your angle first then any other color settings for some reason if you set colors first then angle will reset colors until you set angle back to where it was when you set the colors. Other than that idiosyncrasy it's a great monitor .
Great price, got it in one day, ergo great service. ONE problem, it does not like Microsoft Outlook. I have been using this program (and predecessors) for decades. The font is very tiny. I keep changing the font size and it defaults back to the original 8 pts. Microsoft has terrible service. For example, it says to use the Zoom feature to adjust the size of the font. There is no Zoom on the screen. I've wasted too much time trying to communicate with a literate person at Microsoft therefore, I've venting now. Back to the assessment of this Samsung monitor, GREAT!!!
I like this monitor because it was a good size and the price was affordable for my home office. The disadvantage of this monitor is that it does not have a video camera and it does not have a dvi cable to connect to a laptop but other than that, is works great and I have not had any issue with it since I bought it two months ago.
Was looking for a cheap 1080p monitor to use as a second monitor to be able to tab out without minimizing my game to use discord or do a quick search and this had everything I was looking for. The monitor I received didn't have USB ports on the stand or an hdmi port as the pictures and description show. A little disappointed, but still satisfied with the monitor. It only came with the power cord and a dvi cable. My computer does not have a dvi port and I believe most newer computer's don't so check that before so you can purchase a converter or a display cable which are under $10 so the monitor is still worth it. I used the display port cable and it works great.
I bought this monitor because it was listed with a few perks and for a good price. One of those perks was 2 side USB ports on the bottom base, however, when I got it I realized that it does not come with the USB ports which makes me very disappointed about this monitor. I wanted to use the USB ports since I transfer a lot of files from my flash drives. I don't want to go to the hassle of returning it because it is not a bad monitor but I am upset that it is promoted as having something that it does not. If you want this monitor because of the USB ports look somewhere else because this does not come with it.
What's not to LIKE? There's no HDMI connector and that's just a deal killer for me. I guess it's my fault for not reading the description entirely. I thought an easy fix would be to buy an HDMI to displayport adapter but they cost about $30 and require a USB port for power which means the cable has to run from an HDMI source (such as an Amazon Fire stick), then to this monitor, and then to a usb port on a computer. That's too complicated. If you only want to use as a computer monitor, this one has great colors, tilt screen, adjustable height so it's awesome. However, I need the flexibility to use as a TV screen in my home office as well. Also please note a displayport to HDMI adapter (less than $10) is NOT the same as an HDMI to displayport adapter which costs about 3 times that amount. For me, it made more sense to pay slightly more for a monitor with HDMI.
I swear the add had it listed with USB ports. My fault for not noticing it didn't have an HDMI hookup. What is it supposed to connect with these days without USB or HDMI. Will most likely return.
After almost four months the screen developed multiple black spots across the surface of the monitor. I could not see my screen through these spots. I will never purchase another Samsung product. I had to throw this one in the trash. Black bags matter.
