Seachoice Lockable Spare Tire Carrier

This is much heavier duty than similar products I've had. The lock bars are much thicker and perfectly threaded. Includes Lug nuts to secure the tire properly and the locking lugs to secure the lug nuts...double protection. The plating is clearly hot dip galvanized...other items like this I've had were clearly electroplated. And I got this for half price.

For the price, this can't be beaten. A simple system causes the angled, threaded bars to be in the way of any wrenching of the included lug nuts. This system presses the wheel assembly against the tongue or frame, so make sure you have a suitable place for it with no bolts, brackets, or lights in the way.

This is one of the most solidly made spare tire carriers that I could find. I bought one similar around 6 years ago and wanted another one just like it and this is the only one I could find that is still made very well. Thick metal bolts and big strong lug nuts. Compare the specs with all other simple lockable spare tire carriers elsewhere and I don't think you'll find a better price for the product. Other brands just don't seem to be as strong or solid. Zinc-plated prevents rust. This design and profile keeps the spare tire out of the way. The angled lock plates are better than the 90 degree ones you'll find elsewhere. It makes it easier to lock if the bolts are not precisely aligned due to variations in different wheels. You can really crank down on the nuts and make the spare tire very stable and solid against the trailer.

Does what it's supposed to do. Allows you to mount spare virtually anywhere and makes it more difficult for thieves. A *must have* investment.

No measurments given in ad. Says fits 5 lug, but has to be bent open to fit hole pattern, was gping to return, but no one else offers a galvanized carrier.

simple lock/holder for trailer spare. tire lays flat. not galvanized, but the metal lock parts might be. they are 1/2 thick.

Couldn't rate the product they sent me the wrong product

No direction. Could not place tire up, had to be lying down on tongue of hitch. I could not hold tire and put on carrier at the same time. Disappointed. I had a 12" tire.
