Select by Calphalon Hard-Anodized Nonstick 5 Qt. Dutch Oven with Lid

We have owned this Dutch oven for several years and love it. Recently we bought another to give as a wedding gift. I'm sure they will love it as much as we do.

Great product this is a replacement for the one we purchased 10 years ago.

It's exactly as advertised. Good size, non stick works great, can't ask for more than delivering what they lromised.

The perfect size I had trouble finding. It's a great Dutch Oven to replace one I had to toss out from overuse!

This pan seems well made and looks really nice. I have the 7 qt and wanted the smaller 5 qt. for smaller meals. It's a very nice pan with a heavy lid. I've had the 7 qt. for a few years and haven't had any problems with it so was really glad to get the 5 qt.

This remains the perfect black since day one. I have boiled pasta inside, makes rice crispies, and more. It's easy to cook with. Easy to clean. Handles are a great size making it safe for my kids and nieces to help me. Very strong stable pot and comfortable for my tired hands.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was looking for a sturdy lightweight Dutch oven and this product filled my need. Have used it numerous times. The non stick interior is easy to clean. Have had no problem putting it in dishwasher. The heavy glass lid lets me see what is cooking. This is an excellent lower priced pot. Would highly recommend it.

I've been using the Select by Calphalon Hard-Anodized Nonstick 7-Quart Dutch Oven regularly, and overall it's a good everyday pot. The hard-anodized construction feels durable and heats evenly, making it reliable for soups, stews, pastas, and large family meals. The nonstick interior is convenient and makes cleaning very easy. The size is generous without being bulky, so it's great for meal prep or dinner parties. However, it's not perfect. The nonstick coating can show wear over time if metal utensils are used, and it doesn't retain heat the same way a heavier cast-iron Dutch oven would. The lid fits well but isn't exceptionally tight like premium enameled options. Also, if you're looking for a pot to last for decades, this feels like a solid mid-range choice, not an heirloom piece. Overall it's very functional, versatile, and worth the price for everyday cooking.

The pot is tall and not very wide, unlike the same exact size I pot I had from Calphalon but replaced with this. The old one was shorter and wider. The image on the website is misleading. Unfortunately, I didn't want to pay or deal with the hassle of returning it so I'm stuck.

The coating started coming off this pot after the first use. I followed all instructions, used only nylon untensils, and hand washed the pot with a soft rag and mild dish soap. A nickel sized spot of coating came off showing the aluminum underneath. I do not know if it came off into the potatoes I was boiling or when I washed the pot. It was as if the coating on the pot had never been properly hardened.
