I started using Nu-Image to improve my horse's coat, mane, and tail, and the results were quite noticeable. His coat is shinier and his mane and tail are fuller! What I really appreciate is how easy Nu-Image is to use. It mixes right into his feed without any mess—no oily spills or sticky buckets like you get with straight oils. My horse eats it willingly, and it stays fresh and palatable, which makes daily feeding simple. For the quality and results, Nu-Image is a great value. If you're looking for a clean, easy way to bring out a show-quality shine while supporting overall skin and coat health, Nu-Image is a fantastic choice!
I started this when I got my quarter horse mare march 19 within 2 weeks she was losing her winter coat and now 51 days later she looks amazing this is a fantastic product wish I could post pics of before and after
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been feeding this product for quite awhile now and my horses look fantastic. Shiny coats and great hooves. Highly recommended.
I bought this in the bucket, not sure if my horses would eat it, but they love it. I am adding it to my smartpaks. The reason I bought it was to help my mare with her itchy, flaky skin. She could also use the extra biotin for her hooves. I have been only giving it for a month, so I am not sure it is helping her skin. AND she rubbed out her mane this spring, so hoping it helps it grow back. BUT both my horses are SUPER SHINY and looks so wonderful. I have been getting a ton of compliments on how well they look. My palomino gelding is so GOLD! (pic does not show shininess) I will continue to use this for the beneficial omegas, zinc, and biotin. I hope after longer use, I see improvement in my mare's skin.
I was doing some research on what would work best for my mare's mane and coat and I have used it for about almost two months now and I already am seeing improvement in her overall looks and it makes me so happy.
I've been using Select Nu-Image for years and always receive comments from other people about how shiny my horses are and how beautiful their dapples are. We ran out of Nu-Image for about 2 months during the pandemic and noticed a huge change in coat quality once we were able to resume.
I have used this for multiple horses and noticed a significant change in their coats. This helped prevent them from bleaching out and gave them a softer, shinier coat.
I bought this product because my Friesian mare's coat turned red this winter. I read in Dr. Kellon's book on horse nutrition that a copper/zinc imbalance is the cause of sun bleaching. I tried Smart, Dark & Handsome w/paprika last summer but saw no real change in coat color (even giving 2 scoops a day) so I thought I would give a zinc supplement a try. My horse has been on it since March and it works great! Her summer coat has come in black and incredibly shiny and it has stayed dark even though she's turned out during the day. I get compliments on "how beautiful" she is almost every time I ride. I buy the 5lb bucket -- costs around .25/day and is much more economical than the "dark horse" supplements. One note: my horse weighs 1300 lbs so I gave her 2 scoops a day for 30 days as a "loading dose".
I first used this supplement at the recommendation of a barn buddy (who had her horse on the Dark Horse version) because our girl had some minor skin/coat issues and I admired her horse's gleaming black coat. I have stuck with it because her skin/coat issues cleared up and I started getting compliments on her appearance. She eats it well too. I am giving it four stars rather than five only because I wonder if it is really a good idea to have a soy-based as opposed to flax-based skin/coat supplement.
This product has shown results on another horse. However, the horse I bought it for will not eat this supplement. He tends to be a picky eater and began refusing to clean up his grain once I started using this supplement. I even tried reducing the amount and gradually adding more to no avail.
