The ease and consistency of starting this tiller is a large improvement over gas powered cultivators. The power of the motor and the blade design make cutting into packed dirt a breeze. As with all tilling projects, new areas for plowing may take several passes but the changeable depth of this one makes each pass with this cultivator more productive. It's quiet and does not produce noxious fumes and I don't have to keep track of gas cans! I had adopted battery powered yard tools in the past because of these factors but still had to work within the battery charge life. Wasn't sure how I would like stringing out a long electric cord but it was no big deal. It was fairy easy to keep the cord out of the way of the blades. Clearing the blade axle of roots and debris was also very easily done. I cultivated three large beds where perennials and vegetables happily coexist.

Does a good job of making gardening easier. Where weeds are tall, cut and remove them before trying to till. Otherwise you spend your time unwrapping the plant pieces from the tiller.
