I thought I'd be returning this, but it's proven useful several times when I flooded my gas saw. Cut up two Aspen and a pine (rounds) before the battery died. as far as the chain jumping off, you just have to watch your angles. I've had it happen a few times but I'll always take this thing with me when I'm cutting. Even handles gamble oak no problem. -Matt A.
Always test the blade oiling function on a piece of cardboard before using. If it is stored in a cold environment it may not lubricant the chain and damage the chain. Best chainsaw I've ever used. Battery lasts along time. Cool battery down before charging.
I've only used this to limb and buck one large tree that had fallen. Previously I had used a Craftsman gas-powered chainsaw for many years. The Senix saw was surprisingly powerful - as powerful as my gas saw. It was MUCH, MUCH easier to start (just hold down the button and lever) and it felt safer to use because I had no hesitation to stop it frequently and put it down while I re-set my position or moved cut debris out of the way. One battery charge was enough to limb and buck about 2/3 of a large (18" diameter, 25' tall) fallen tree down to 1/4 of a charge (the recommended stopping point). By then, I was ready for a rest
Easy to use - battery charges fast %26 when the chain comes off %26 you know that will happen. it's very easy to reposition and get back to work. I highly recommend this battery powered chainsaw. You will be very surprised at the power this tool has.
This chainsaw is replacing a 2018 husqvarna battery powered chainsaw for cutting up small pine trees and limbs on my property. A new battery for the old one costs 250.00 so this one was was a better value right off the rip. I was concerned initially because the directions for building it out of the box were light on info and I wasn't able to find any build videos on the internet. However, after some tinkering, its almost the exact same configuration as my old Husqvarna. The only remaing challenge was detangling the chain, and that only took me about 5 minutes of playing with it to get it installed correctly. For new chainsaw owners, make sure to purchase some bar and chain oil as it does not come with a small starter bottle so you will need that to ensure proper functionality. It took about 40 minutes to fully charge the battery initially and it was surprisingly as quiet as my Husqvarna. It burned through several of the larger trunks like they weren't even a worry. I then moved on to branches and limbs and once again had no issue, even on eco mode. I haven't tried it on fresh pine trees yet (excess sap could be an issue) but I will be trying that later this week and I expect it to perform very similarly. The only draw back was the overall run time I expected (1hr off and on). With a newer battery and newer battery technology, I was hopping for more overall run time than I got. Having said that, this chainsaw is vastly more powerfull than my older one, so I'd rarher have the power with decent battery life than better life and it lacking power to get through bigger trees. I was very pleased with this purchase and will give them another try when I replace my pole saw and string trimmer. Plus, having more batteries around will do wonders for my productivity. Really recommended for smaller/mid-sized trees and all branches. great option for those who need something for storm prep and recovery in neighborhoods, where full on gas powered chainsaws are overkill. Outside of replacing and/or sharpening the chain and having Chain oil around, theres almost no maintenance so thats also a benefit.
Doesnt take long to put together out of the box. easy to tighten the chain. It is almost as heavy as a gas chainsaw once you put the battery in. It cuts fast and great to do small projects around the yard without having to mix gas or almost getting a heart attack from pulling on the start cord and that gas saw just doesnt want to work. Good option if you have a few acres with shelter belts or treats.
Best chainsaw ever. Will cut through large trees, and fast. Huge battery and heavy but well balanced. Will make at least 10 cuts to a large tree. Chatges fast. Adding oil is a bit tricky but overall an excellent choice. Very satisfied. As for replacement chains make sure they are the correct nano chains, super sharp and fast.
This chainsaw, by itself, was heavy: much more than the 13 lbs claimed. Adding the battery made it seem impossible to lug around (even empty of chain saw oil) for an hour or two. I could pick up a large carpet vacuum cleaner with my left hand and carry it around the house more easily than I could this chainsaw. I ended up returning it without even using it once.
This is the 1st chainsaw I have owned. The manufacturer must assume the assembly out of the box is known to all, but I eventually figured it out. Also, eventually discovered the need for oil in the chamber, which I have purchased. It appears to be higher quality than I need, but I'll know more in the spring when I cut down a tree in my backyard. **BOTTOM LINE: "better instructions would be very helpful. Thank you for having it available online. -and, the price is good.
I tryed it out for a short while, cut a tree into 4 sections that had blown down, the tree was around 18 inches at the base, wow the saw cut fast , razor sharp an performed better than i evwn thought, give it a 5 star on that, i rated it a 4 star because hadnt jad it long enough to know how it will endure long term.
