The is our second Sentry safe. The nice thing about this one is, it is also waterproof. As long as you don't drill holes in the bottom to secure it. A nice added feature is the internal light. The keyed lock and combination are an added bonus for security. Has eight bars that lock the door
Good quality safe. Seems well built and sturdy. The safe is very heavy, but even so I decided to bolt it to the floor by following the instructions and bolts provided. This was straightforward to do. The only downside to this is that it voids the waterproof guarantee. Hopefully I will never need to find out how fire, theft and waterproof it is.
We just installed our 2.0 Cu Ft safe. While drilling the holes to secure the safe to the floor, the left one had the dimple to drill but the right one did not have a dimple in it. I chose to drill in the center of the depression. I should have stayed back as far as the left dimple was. It was too close to the door for the lag bolt head. I re-drilled further back. All is well, I sealed the hole with caulking. All is well. Works as intended. The handle is harder than my 2007 model to pull down. 2 days and we like it well.
This is a great safe. Plenty of room and features both fire and water protection. I have only had it a few weeks, but seems to be well made and like the electronic number pad access.
Solid, easy to operate. It is the perfect size to easily fit under my clothes in my closet, yet it is heavy enough that one couldn't easily pick it up and walk out.
The new Sentry safe is well built. The drawers are a nice feature and are very useful. Digital keypad is the way to go (after dial on our old safe broke off). I wish the issued coupon would have been honored on the Masterlock safe that I originally selected but I settled for the Sentry safe
I like the safe but was sad to see the hinges are still spot welded to the safe, same as 15 years ago. The only reason for purchasing this new safe was because my previous SentrySafe bottom hinge rusted off completely.
I like this safe because it has a 2 locking system (Key and Combo). It is a nice size for my needs. My only problems are this--- Sentry should let the buyer choose their own shelves, This is my 2nd safe in this model. I did not want a deep shelf so I had to buy the right size shelves for me, costing me more money. My first safe was dented and out of square. It was usable and I did not want to nit-pick on the dent because it seemed to work fine. The 2 bolts they included were not good enough and caused my unsquare safe to be wobbly no matter how tight I made the bolts. So I needed 4 of them. Sentry should include 4 bolts.
This is a nice safe, good size for documents and side fire arm. It also has hooks for spare keys. My only issue, and reason for the 3 stars, is the key pad. My key pad is so finicky, many times it doesn't do anything (no beeping, no nothing), I have changed the batteries, in case you wondering. In my most recent incident with the key pad, I had changed the batteries, so I knew they good, but once again the key pad did nothing (no beeps, no lights, nothing). I removed the battery compartment to check if maybe there was a connection issue and put it back in. Still nothing. So, I decided fine, let me try the batteries. Blew out the empty compartment and battery holder with canned air. Replaced the batteries and still nothing. Put the original batteries back in that I was replacing and would you believe it, now it decides it work. Very irritating when you need to get to a document.
Overall the safe is exactly what we wanted. The hinge is severely dented and affects the door staying open without swinging closed. Quality control really dropped the ball. The door does shut and can be locked despite the damage.
