People generally consider titanium a very strong material, particularly since it is used in aircraft, spacecraft, and medical implants. That doesn't mean it won't scratch though! This cutting board definitely scratches easily. The first time we used it, it scratched noticeably. We know titanium is not scratch-proof, but this thing develops scratches each time it is used -- so be prepared for that. Supposedly, the scratches can be buffed out, but we haven't tried that yet. But it is definitely much better than the Stainless Steel one I had used before.
Having said that, we generally like this cutting board quite a lot. It is the perfect size at 16"x11" -- not small, and not overwhelming either. We especially like that it is two-sided -- titanium for meats, and PP on the reverse for vegetables. Thus, the two never get mixed when prepping meals. In the corner of the PP side is a scraper for mincing small items, such as garlic, which is nice but not perfect. Still, it's a good attempt.
The PP side isn't loose fibers; it is a solid surface. It has a groove all around it to catch juices, a welcome touch.
In general, it is a good value, especially when on sale. If you can get it at a discount, it's an easy choice.
