Extremely happy with this portable AC unit. It cools as expected and the remote control works great. I like the design of the external air hose for the window. Hose stays in place when mounted into the window opening. I use the dehumidifer (Dry) mode often. It does an excellent job at removing the extra moisture from my studio condo. In Florida the Dry setting has been used often as well as the AC setting. Using the Dry mode I have had a quart of water deposited into the container placed under the attached hose within a 24 hour period. Never had water get onto the floor in any of the mode settings. The hose attachment is located very close to the bottom of the unit. While using the Dry mode I place the until up off the floor via the styrofoam platform that came out of it's original packaging. It's sturdy and just the right height. The unit is easy for me to lift up onto the 4-5" high platform. Water flowing down the hose is all about gravity. Used the Fan setting when room air circulation is needed and can be substituted for the AC setting. The portable AC unit sits fairly close to my TV and does make enough noise to interfer with the TV sound. However, at night when the unit turns on with the compressor I rarely notice the noise. I haven't used the Sleep mode setting. I had researched Portable AC units before deciding to purchase this Brand and Model. This unit has performed great and hasn't been too hard on my electrical usage and power bill. Walmart shipping was fast and item was received in excellent condition.
arrived in perfect shape .
SLPAC8 Portable Air Conditioner received and set up on 7/05/2023. Using in Northwest Washington. Product is delivered with a hose to attach if you need to drain water from dehumidification. Product would not power on at first, but after we pressed button on the AC power cord we were able to turn on the unit. It took a couple of minutes to start blowing cold air, but then it blew plenty of cold air at the Low setting. It is not terribly loud and cools my bedroom to my liking. After just one day's use I am very happy with this product.
I replaced an older widow air conditioner with this portable version. The unit came complete with a remote control, exhaust duct assembly, and window sealing plate assembly. Installation was quick and easy - only took about 15 minutes. Once on, it cooled immediately and is relatively quiet. I like the portability and can use it in different rooms. BTW, this company's Customer service was very knowledgeable and helpful when I called with questions. I highly recommend this product if you are looking for a portable air conditioner.
I love this AC unit. I watched YouTubes before buying and this is the lowest maintenance, easiest to use and move unit available!! I use this in my RV and it saved me like $1100 compared to replacing my original RV AC unit! It does take a little space, but so worth the sacrifice! One other thing - this is "plug and play" "set it and forget it." I thought I would be draining it every other day - wrong! It evaporates the humidity/moisture that it pulls from the room. Been using it over a month in very humid island area - yet to even drain! Treat Yourself! I am a real consumer - no promotional gift here. Paid full price and would again!!
Cools a large room pretty well. I like the timer feature. I set it to run when I'm not in the room so it will be cool when I do go in Plus it's on while I paint. The heat is good in the winter and as things cool a bit, I can do the same with the fan.
LOVE THIS AIR-CONDITIONER. FIRST ONE I HAVE EVER HAD. THE REMOTE IS GREAT!
I'm glad I went ahead and ordered it. Really not too loud. Sounds like a fan. So far it works good. Just received today.
I bought this unit to use as backup for power outages. It works great with my Ecoflow Pro. The window kit was too wide for my window, so I had to trim it down. This unit is loud on the high setting. I have a special needs child who is sensitive to sound, so that was disappointing. However, it cools well. I put a Vornado fan in front of it, and it cools a larger area. If you don't mind the noise, then I say it's a good product for the price.
It's like having a tractor running in the room, and it has NEVER cooled the very small space it's been installed to cool. The space is so small that it only holds a queen-sized bed that's against the wall on one side and only has space around the other three sides to walk sideways.
