My family has some members with sensitive noses so we like this free and clear laundry detergent. It gets clothes clean without perfumes. The bottle is easy to pour, and it's become our go-to. I also like that Seventh Generation is a more eco friendly company.

​I have been using the Seventh Generation Free and Clear Laundry Detergent for a few weeks now, and it has exceeded my expectations. As someone who prefers products without harsh chemicals, finding a formula that actually cleans well can be a challenge—but this one delivers.

I received a sample of the Seventh Generation Free & Clear Laundry Detergent from Generation Good. This was my first time using a natural, eco-friendly and non-scented laundry detergent ever. I wasn't sure what to expect. Well, was I surprised. My bedding came out so fresh and crisp. It was so clean feeling that I knew it was something I've never experienced before. Makes me wonder if my other brand was really getting the deep down clean I thought it was. Well I made up my bed and when it came time to sleep, I didn't know if it was my imagination or not but I fell easily asleep. That doesn't happen with all of my pet, dust and environmental allergies. I really believe the detergent bought me that whole week free of instant sleep. I definitely recommend to anyone debating this purchase. It's a no brainer.

The detergent is fine as far as I can tell for cleaning. My complaint is with the cap as I have seen others also state. The measurement indicators are difficult to see with my 65 year old eyes; even with my glasses on. The bottle instructions advise putting the cap into the wash is ridiculous.Who would ever do that? What an annoyance to fish the cap before putting the clothes into the dryer. It is easier to just wipe out the residue with a piece of laundry. Or how about this, just design the bottle like the competition to accept the residue back into the bottle. My wife likes the detergent so we will be buying it again.

I bought this based on recommendation from a dry cleaner who rates detergents on instagram. the detergent seems to be fine. no issues. but the CAP is AWFUL. there's no place for the tiny bit that's left inside to drip back into the bottle, so it runs down the side of the cap base, the bottle and the shelf or wherever the bottle is placed. Detergent all over my hand when I touch the bottle. I've looked through reviews and see many other complaints. Apparently this was a redesign THREE YEARS ago? that was a green cap. I have a clear cap, but the same problems. dripping, hard to see measurement lines/numbers... I'm now trying to come up with a different dispensing solution so I don't have to just throw this out. It's already wasteful because so much ends up outside my washing machine where it belongs.

First time buying this and though the detergent seems ok, there are no lines on the cap to measure the liquid out, even though the directions say to use the cap lines. They don't exist. Also the cap spills down the bottle every time I pour or put the cap back on, so its a mess after using it just three times.

The cap design is horrible and needs to be redesigned. The directions mention filling up to “3” and “5” but there are no numbers visible. Also, this is not a no-spill design - there is nothing to catch smallest amount of leftover liquid on the cap. Make sure you have something handy to wipe it off.

Green cap means STOP and DON'T BUY for the supposedly new and "improved" Free and Clear Laundry Detergent---The green CAP is absolutely the WORST I have found on any product I normally buy, and the formulation itself has been changed somewhat (not for the better--I kept my old, empty jug with the white cap so I read the fine print.) Years ago I broke a tiny bone in my right palm--I can't open the green cap without my heftiest jar opener. I'm returning and changing brands even though I have been a loyal customer of "Free and Clear" for years. WHY? No environmentally conscious explanation or similar is a satisfactory answer...

just to echo all of the other comments about the new cap, it's awful. where are the measurement lines? i have perfect vision and cannot see them. also- i've been using this detergent for years and i'm all of a sudden itchy everywhere. was there a formula change?? i'm absolutely baffled i didn't expect to have a sudden allergic reaction.

Well I'm not the only one! So I have Rheumatoid Arthritis very bad in my hands. No way I can open this new top. And I'm reading the reviews, so I guess once I get my neighbor to open it I'll be have other challenges. I've used your product for years. I have to switch! Why would you do this?
