Love the product; especially the price. We just sent off our 9 year old to camp with it. Let's now hope it stands the test of durability!! Very happy with the purchase!
I have an old Seward from several years ago and it has held up well, so bought this for old family photo albums I inherited [even the huge scrapbooking kind]. I like the wheels, my old one does not have any, but **the strap on the opposite end to pull with seems flimsy. It seems like it will rip off at some point in the future. There is no option on here to rate 'quality' - but other than the flimsy strap, it seems very sturdy.
Trunk was perfect for the job at hand. Purchased it for my son , who was on his way to college. It is a little smaller than others I considered buying, but the price made the extra room on others seem insignificant. I bought a Blue one because it was one of the school colors and the color was true to the add... You have to be careful with the lock clasp. I was trying to situate it in my son's room at the foot of the bed. I didn't have the lock closed and barely hit the end of the bed and severely bent the clasp. Luckily, because the clasp was so frail, it bent back into place. If it is caught in th ewrong position it will break off easily, so just be careful. Overall, good value for the money I spent. Saw one that was practically identical at the Container Store "on sale" for $99.99....SMH
I purchased one of these to store and carry some of the props for my magic show. The first one I purchased is 8 years old and has been VERY used. The handle finally broke this past year. But I've found this case to be well worth the money. From the outside, the trunk looks great. I must admit that the materials used in its construction are not the greatest quality. The vinyl coating is pretty thin, and the case is held together with a sort of small, staple-rivet. It looks like it would fall apart fairly easy. But it stood up well. Unless you use it infrequently, don't expect the wheels to last very long though. Mine wore out in less than a year -- but I actually used it. However, these only get loaded in and out of an SUV. I'm somewhat careful about how I handle them. I certainly wouldn't put it through an airport luggage system. Though it might make the trip OK-- you never know. I now own four of these trunks -- each for a specific purpose.
the footlocker seems to be well constructed however there are three minor flaws in its production. the first is a design flaw. There's a handle to carry the footlocker like a suitcase. And then there is a handle to pull the footlocker by the wheels. However I feel there should be a handle on the other side where the wheels are at so you can carry it like an actual Foot Locker. the second flaw is that the keys do not work in the lock. The third flaw is that the fasters that hold the trunk together are exposed on the inside causing materials that you put inside the trunk to become snagged. overall the product is worth the price if you want to put up with a few minor flaws.
Picked up trunk for my son going to college. It was the best price I found after looking around. It arrived no trouble and it will do the job, but I don't think it would be durable enough to take a lot of abuse. It will be a place for storage, it rolls, it's not paper but this is going under a bed and not on a boat to Europe so it was the right price and right color for the job.
I was nervous about this trunk due to mostly negative reviews I read. I was surprised that it was decent quality for the price. Had it personalized. My daughter loves it and is ready for camp.
I purhased 2 of these trunks for gifts and both arrived quite timely. One was OK however the other was smashed to smitherines! No fault I believe of Walmart but the shippers. I chekced about returning to replace and was told to return to the local Walmart for a refund but would have to reorder online again myself. Local store issued a refund immediately and i reordered but in panic as it was a gift to be delivered out of state and the new delivery date was the day before it ha to travel out of state. It did arrive ahead of their estimate - howeve, it was also broken, not as much damage but still damaged. I went to the local store and purchased one off the shelf that as different but would work. Returned the 2nd damaged one yesterday.
Wood, no. Handle no. Proper packaging for shipping, no. Size as described, no. Replacement for damaged item shipped on the date indicated, no. Buy Site to store ONLY, that way you can reject it once you see it. See PIC for the actual item you will be shipped.
The item itself is fine, but I didn't need it anymore and took it to Walmart to return. Walmart says they couldn't accept this return bc I purchased it through a third party seller. I bought this on Walmart , so assumed I could return anything I purchased on Walmart at Walmart. This is not true! Buyer beware! You can only return the item at Walmart stores if the item is sold and fulfilled by Walmart. I did not know that, and now if I want to return the item, I have to pay for shipping to return this item. i will not be buying anything from Walmart and will be canceling my membership. I can just buy from Amazon with free returns. I thought the benefit of buying from Walmart was the ability to pick up and return in store, but that's not always the case. Very disappointing and deceptive Walmart experience.
