This tool is a must when a chain saw or machine is not available.

great tolls, build tough work great. the arc of the axe isn't centered it's the only thing that made it not perfect. but you can sharpend it to your taste. the mattock head is the perfect size for trail building. the axe will cut roots and trees, the pulaski is just the right weight to be tough and not to heavy to transport it

One out of ten broke the first time it was used. The hickory handle broke just underneath the axehead. This was not under extreme or unusual use conditions.

You get what you pay for; on mine the handle was twisted, had poor grain alignment, and came loose. I was able to fix the twist and wobbly head with a little time, a pocket knife, and a step wedge. The head itself seems decent though even though it originally had a really poor grind on the axe side, again nothing a little time and work can't fix, but it should have been done right in the first place. DO NOT try to cut down a tree with this tool out of the box! The steep grind angle made mine bounce off the tree even after sharpening and the mattock almost did a number on my shin.
