Shady Brook Farms® Frozen Whole Turkey, No Antibiotics Ever, 10-17 lbs, Serves 7 to 11

I don't eat turkey but I did cook it for my family. They loved it. Said it was the best one we have had for the holidays. I spatchcocked it and put sticks of butter under the skin. It cooked beautifully.

This was perfect. I wanted to spatchcock my turkey and the typical butterball is just way to big. This was 13 lbs. Great size when you're only cooking for 6 people. The turkey came out great. Very delicious.

I can't wait to bake my turkey on thanksgiving day! I never tried this brand of turkey and wanted to try something different than my usual Butterball turkey.

After thawing the turkey according to directions, I needed to remove the large plastic tie that bound together the legs. The problem was that it would not release as the instructions claimed it would. I discovered that it was deeply inserted or drilled by machine into the turkey itself and not the legs. I pulled, yanked, etc., and it wasn't going anywhere. Only solution was to get a large kitchen utility scissors and begin cutting away the raw meat around it. After doing turkey surgery like this for 30 minutes, it finally gave way! I have been preparing Thanksgiving dinners for 30 plus years, and have never experienced anything like this before. Total time to remove the plastic tie was an hour!! I am not only angry, but now my hands and wrist hurt from the struggle. Get another brand folks!!! This is my honest review from an experienced cook.

Meat in spite of being brined and buttered, was very tough, very dry. The only thing good about this was when it went into the stock pot and Turkey Noodle Soup came out of it. But even with that said - there was no taste to the meat at all!

This has happened numerous times, I am simply looking at something and it ended up in my cart after my purchase was completed and I did not approve it. The store will not return these items, so now I have a 14-lbs. turkey for 3 people. I guess the good news is that I had looked at a few different turkeys and they didn't all show up at my doorstep. Since this continues to happen, I do not plan on renewing my membership.

The packaging was not air tight for the turkey. It leaked all over my refrigerator even into the produce drawer when I set it in there to thaw. It was a disgusting mess. It affected the flavor and caused the turkey to be very dry. It was a big disappointment.

NEVER RECEIVED item…. Ordered it twice and both times I was told it's unavailable.
