I keep this about 25 ft from my kitchen. If i light a candle, cook bacon, or anything with a scent... it detects it... drops the air rating... then amps itself up to remedy the smell and air contamination. I keep it near my t-shirt heat press and it does help with no doubt with the smells coming off the press while using. It doesnt make a noise unless it is working hard. Even then, to me... the sound isn't annoying.

I listed scent as 5 star because there is NO scent. I cannot use scents, or I will NOT be able to breathe. This machine works very well. I got it because it does NOT need so many filter replacements. Too many of these filter replacements are too expensive per year. This machine cost less than some filters cost per year. I hope in a few months to buy 2 more of these. I would highly recommend them to anyone wishing to have good air which does not become too expensive.

This product lives up to its name, and when it says that you don;t change the filter for 5 years, its true. I've just ordered a filter after 5 years and I've also just bought another shark, its worth the money. I now have two in my home, and with two dogs this product makes the difference.

I love this thing I put it in my bedroom and could tell difference within 1 hour.. the setup was super easy and quick.. I definitely recommen for small spaces

Purchased for a childrens room that suffers from ashthma. i was doubting myself how well it works at first but immediately noticed a huge different within days. we have dogs and it improves the air quailty so much. i can tell its working by how much hair i find in the filter. i love the fan option on it as well. For the price i ended up purchasing 2 more for other rooms in my house.

I love it! I have new neighbors who stated smoking a certain plant, to which I am highly allergic. This powerful device has made it so I no longer have even think about taking my emergency allergy medication. Runs fairly quiet, less sound than my room fan or my CPAP machine. The controls are highly intuitive, right out of the box I easily understood how to change settings. I'm unsure about the accuracy of the air quality readings, but I have it located at the greatest point of need instead of a central location. *Only once has the fan made a high pitch ring, but changing the fan speed quickly resolved that.

I bought one to test it out. In my office, I have carpet and have at least 2 (sometimes 4) dogs in the room with me. The room now has a dog smell; I cannot get rid of. So I bought this hoping it would help. I let it run for 12 hours before I went in to see how it did. The room now has almost zero dog smell! I am going to buy another one for my teen son's room.

What a waste of money! I bought this for a new apartment and it only worked for a week. It is super clean. I have cleaned it multiple times because it won't change the air quailty. It is stuck on 0%. I have vaccumed it, air dusted it, wiped it down with no luck on getting it to function properly. Of course the return windo is past as well. Not sure I will ever buy another Shark product again!
