Sharp Over-The-Range Microwave

HoneyontheHudson November 14, 2016

I bought this to replace one that was over 10 years old. So happy with this new one! I ordered it on a Tuesday, it was delivered on Thursday and my son installed it the next day within an hour and the holes from the old one lined up perfectly! He said that it took longer to remove the old one than it took to install this one. Great product and service.

Zero clearance

Only microwave I could find that went flush to wall and door could still open. So far so good no problems yet. Easy to install.

Great product! Great price! Rapid Delivery!

Rick August 5, 2022

I purchased this unit as a replacement for the over the range microwave at my mom's house. It was the same basic model, but the one that broke was manufactured in 2005. The owner's manuals are the the same as the model is almost identical. This meant that we didn't have to fool around with a new mounting style. With the help of my two grown sons, we were pretty easily able to lift it into place and secure it. (NOTE: We did test the unit before we mounted it to make sure it worked.) We were surprised that the unit actually arrived earlier than scheduled (on a Thursday instead of the following Tuesday). This was a bonus as we had the manpower to install it that Thursday evening in time for a small party we had on Sunday. So kudos for the speedy delivery. In addition to having the same mounting system as the previous unit to make installation easier, it was also important that the operating instructions were the same for my 87 year old mom. She didn't have to learn how to operate the new microwave because the control panel operation is almost identical to her previous one. So that was a plus, too! If you are buying this to replace a similar model, you should be happy with it. One thing that is a bit odd about this product line is that the control panel for cooking time/power/modes/etc. is actually INSIDE the door. You have to open up the microwave door to make the settings. Or, if you're partway through. You have to open the door to change things. You get used to that pretty quickly, but it is different than the way the vast majority of microwaves operate. The only minor gripe, is that the original one had a white face and now they apparently only make it in stainless steel. However, once we installed it, it looked GREAT. My mom was happy, and I guess that's the most important part. As someone pointed out, the lights are on the dim side, so we might replace the original with brighter LED bulbs. But that's me, my mom thinks they're fine. Also as pointed out, the fan DOES have two speeds, but you'd be hard-pressed to hear/feel any difference between them. Her unit vents to the outside. I guess it really doesn't matter too much. We might notice a difference in the draw when there's something boiling on the stove, but we haven't had that opportunity yet. But at least it works. Overall, we're very happy with the unit. Walmart had the cheapest price of any of the online dealers at the time.

So far I like this microwave very much. The control panel is inside the door so it is sleek and clean looking. It has many features such as sensor cooking and reheat.

Sleek looking without cooking size restrictions

Anonymous September 13, 2025

I love the sleek look of this microwave without being the size of the low profile microwaves. The one drawback is the setting requests are inside the door. I still shut the door & have to reopen to set my food time or defrost, etc. That is the only feature I am not crazy about on this appliance. Otherwise, I am happy with how it works & the performance.

Solid piece of equipment

ESP2001 June 23, 2026

I'm pleased with the function of the microwave- the last sharp carousel I owned lasted 20 years. Hope to have the same result with this item. The “hidden” keypad is a bit inconvenient. Prefer the standard exposed keypad. Sensor function works well. Wish it had WiFi capability so it could be monitored remotely.

Not a design for cleanliness.

Elaine August 12, 2020

So far, 4 days, I like it. My last one died after 30 yrs. I can see potential problemr if an accident occurs. The holes on the side will be impossible to clean if stuff gets in or thru them. I didn't need a turning dis before. One more thing to clean. The light underneath is the worst part. Useless and 30 watt limit. Try to find that one! But there is an 40 watt led that I bought for $16 (need 2). Now I can see and not burn myself. Otherwise it does the job but so far don't see any great improvement over the old one.

don't purchase anything through a Walmart third party Walmart does not stand behind your purchases. it's been a week and still have not received a email from Walmart saying it was picked up by FedEx. the third party won't refund me until they have it and decide if you get a refund even though i sent the third party pictures of the box and broken pieces inside the box when i opened it. and i was treated very rudely at Walmart when I returned it to the store

Unbelievable

Tried to get a part for my microwave. Sent schematic and part number, I was told I have to have a tecnician call. This was for a small screw for the light bulb cover.
