SHARP Atomic Weather Station with Wireless Technology, 5-Function, with Outdoor Sensor

This weather station was easy to set up, and the display is clear and colorful. The time is always accurate due to it being an atomic clock. I like that it forecasts the weather for the next day, and shows the trend for temperature and humidity. It connected quickly to the sensor outside and is accurate.

This was bought to replace and older weather station that could no longer connect to the outdoor sensor. I chose this weather station because I know Sharp is a trusted OEM producer and it had the ability to connect to the atomic time server. I also liked the looks of the display and its ability to use 2 different power sources. I would caution that it took mine a couple of days to finally connect to the time server, so don't think it may not be working.

The only negative so far is the outdoor temp display blanks periodically if the signal is temporarily lost, but that is described in the instructions.

Screen is dim and cannot be set to brighter, although it brightens at times when I move it. This is on AC power. I picked up WWVB at midnight just as expected. The outside temp indicates high.

took awhile for the outside humidity meter to get working, like a week. sometimes the screen goes off for no reason but comes back on soon. 2 times. now its working fine.

Wish it would have backlight when using a battery and mounted on a wall. Can't see anything unless you go up to it and press a button on the top. Had to take it off the wall and place it on a table where I could plug it into an outlet so I can see it. Auto dimmer for night would be good.

the direction for set up could have been much better but I finally got it programmed. the buttons across the top didn't work very well. these two readings I couldn't give it more stars. every thing else works as it should and it's easy to read from across the room

I have had multiple clock/weather stations that synchronize using the radio signal from Colorado before. This clock was placed in the exact place another clock had been for years and had been able to synchronize with no problem. This clock can barely receive the signal at all. I had to put batteries in it so I could temporarily put it in the middle of the back yard for a couple of nights before it finally received the signal and set the time. I would periodically go out late at night and push the button to try to get the sync to function. What makes this most frustrating is that there doesn't appear to be anyway to manually set the time. Perhaps if I unplugged it there would be some initial setup where I could set the time, but I don't know. If you want an accurate clock, I would not choose this one because once you bring it inside, I doubt it will ever be able to sync again in order to keep the time adjusted. Who wants to keep taking their clock to the backyard at night in order to adjust the time?

unless im sitting directly dead center in front of this clock the numbers just disappear. for some reason the walmart app wont let me upload a photo but ive taken several and even my camera cant see the numbers on the clock from any angle.

The ONLY Positive i can say is that i Like the bright easy to read display. but this thing hasnt worked properly since day 1. Took too long to find the Atomic signal. But the WORST part of the whole thing is the Outdoor Temperature transmitter is NEVER correct. Neither the Temperature or the Humidity are correct. Even if you sit the transmitter right beside the clock its nowhere Close! Like right now it is Currently 87° outside with a Heat Index of 94° but the clock says its 69° outside with 99% Humidity? So i brought it inside and did a complete Reset and its still the same. And while i was writing this review it just went totally blank. nothing. I need to get a refund on this piece of Junk!
