SheaMoisture Curl Stretch Pudding Red Palm Oil and Cocoa Butter for Curls with Shea Butter 12 oz

I use this 2-3 times per week or when I'm styling my hair. It works both as a moisturizing curl stretch solution for when I want to wear my hair down and as a soft hold so I don't have to put ProStyle in my hair. I don't want that locked down to my scalp look, just a nicely laid and gathered look so my curls can still live their best life. I have tight curls, high shrinkage, thin/medium thick hair.

I am beyond impressed with this Shea Moisture! A lot of products have an odd scent but this one has a nice cocoa butter scent to it. The extra moisturizer helps replenish my dry hair. When I started to apply the product, I realized that it was moisturizing yet it didnt make my hair shrink as much as my other styling products. The pudding was very thick and had a lot of oil which sealed in the moisture I put in before. I love doing twist outs but could never find a solution to my hair appearing decently shorter after taking the twist down but I believe this product may be the solution I was looking for. It works really well however, the smell becomes over powering if you use too much! Other than that, it works well for curly hair.

I'm sure some people it can work, but it did not work for my hair. I have type 2C curly hair and I tried this, it was a bit too heavy for me and weighed down my hair. It felt greasy, and my hair felt really oily. I didn't like the overall texture of my hair when it was dried.

I bought this because I wanted my curls to stretch in length and other reviews talked about a nice light scent. This product has a light lingering smell similar to cooking oil or lard. Awful. It helped with the texture The day I used it, but when I woke up the following morning I had lots of frizz and my curls felt thick, clumpy and shortened in length. I would not buy again.
