A Shimano rod for $20, quality and reliability are a given. I have purchased three so far and will be purchasing one more very soon. This is a excellent fishing rod weather it is a spinning rod or bait caster, (I purchased both) and the low price is awesome.

These Shimano Solara have become some of my favorite. This is the second 6' medium action model I've purchased I like it so much. This rod makes a perfect spincast combo out of most reels you pair it with. The overall length is just about right, the handle length compliments the size and weight of the rod when paired with a medium sized reel. The action feels a little on the light side for a medium power rod, but it's fiberglass so it's going to be a bit more flexible than a similar sized carbon rod. I like it, makes reeling fish in feel like you've got a monster on. Rated for 10lb-15lb line, I've used 6lb and 8lb on these rods with no issues. This may be one of the nicest little all around rods you can get and be able to afford it.

this is a very good fishing rod for the price I mean very good it's a high-end fishing rod really good one they're asking a little bit of nothing for it so I encourage anybody that runs across the ad with Walmart that they buy one if they're into fishing this is only my second time to order from Walmart online but both times I've been well satisfied

With the low price I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised as to the quality of this rod. The action is fantastic and balance without match. This is just what I was looking for. I ordered two and am so glad I did.

A great shorter alternative for using frogs. Enough backbone to pull bass out of cover. Maybe can use for small to medium catfish but not the big cats.

Sent this as a gift for a teenager and was happy with the quality. It's a great pole for a fishing enthusiast.

Feels very soild. Light weight for how big the rod and handle are. A little big for regular bass fishing. The diameter of the rod itself is a lot bigger/thicker than I was expecting because I ordered online. but if you're targeting big wiper/striper bass this rod would handle those good. Be good for Muskie and large pike or if you're further north be good for salmon and larger trout. I got it for the quality and name of Shimano to pair up with a Zebco 33 platinum reel I found on clearance for 25 dollars also from Walmart. I got the reel before the rod so the rod is a bit large for reel in my opinion. But if you're on big open waters and targeting medium sized large game fish would be great for that. nice strong backbone and pretty sensitive tip. Good all around sensitivity could troll with it fish on the bottom or use jigs and lures. Great rod

This rod was shipped to me in excellent packaging - no way it was going to arrive damaged. The rod itself was extremely competitively priced and is a great value for the money. I was hoping it would be a little sturdier, since it is a Medium action rod, but it feels kind of flimsy. The features are good, it has a premium feel to the handle, the guides are what you'd expect at this price, and it has a bait-keeper hook.

Decent rod for the price. The middle is pretty rigid. I have no doubt that the design is very durable, but it has a pretty soft tip. Much softer than most of the poles with a “fast” action that I have used. Not too dissimilar from the Shimano Sojourn spinning rod I have. As well. So as a brand, very consistent.
