This is a really great product! Unfortunately, a neighbor's cat got into my 74 year old husband's War Eagle, and somehow pressed the button on the installed bilge pump, causing it to burn up, and he could no longer use it. He ordered this one, at a really great price, and was able to install it with no trouble at all. It works perfectly! So perfectly, that when he recently acquired a smaller boat to leave at our river camp, he ordered the same automatic bilge pump, and installed it on his new boat. The time and effort that he was spending to dip the water out after a heavy rain, is now used for more fishing!!!
Works very well and dependable draining water from my boat for about two years. It gets dirty and clogged up as expected outside in the weather. I just buy a new one because the price is low enough. I love it. I dont have to drain water out of my boat every time it rains.
This is the second 800 gpm Shoreline bilge pump we have purchased over the years. The first one lasted for about a decade.....hoping this one lasts as long or longer! Shipped really quickly. Still need to install it (it's been raining on the days we had available to drive to the marina which is about a half a day round trip from home). I specifically selected this one because it is an 800 gpm Shoreline. We hooked up our old Shoreline bilge when the old 800 gpm stopped working but the old one is not automatic and does not pump as fast (lower gpm capacity but glad it was still in the boat as a spare).
Works as it should. You don't need a switch, just wire pos and neg and it kicks on and off with rising water.
Works great.highly recommend
Great pump can be removed to replace or clean without removal of mount. This is a key feature I like sine it is mounted to the floor of a Boston Whaler with stainless screws and marine grade silicone to prevent water from ever getting into the foam filled non sinkable hull. Really did not need a pump since I can pull the plug and the boat self drains but it is nice when you take a wave over the transom or get caught in a heavy rain. No more pulling the plug to self drain the boat.
Ease of installation
Float switch design makes it less likely for debris to interfere with its operation.
hard to review your product when the box was empty when it arrived
This switch is truly unusable. If you attempt to use the auto switch feature it will not stop when dry or will stop pumping for no apparent reason. (No, it wasn't clogged) When wired to run without the switch it also only pumps when it feels like it. I really believe the switch is faulty and the direct wiring must trigger some cut off situation. In any event, it has drained my battery unnecessarily and also had me come to the boat filled with water so it isn't worth much in my estimation. The pump is less than a year old but has acted this way since I bought it.
