Its a great game once you get into it
Remember to check the options to the settings you want. More aliens, less aliens, turn off supply pods, marvels, etc. Once you get it started, despite its many flaws, its still a great game to play. And now far cheaper than when it came out.

Remake of Alpha Centauri.
You need to understand the value of space exploration and colonization in order to understand the educational value of this game. I haven't tried every exoplanet yet, but I assume it is wonderful at teaching the unique challenges of each time of exoplanet differing features. Originally they broke the mold with Alpha Centauri way above and beyond their civilization -if you've never heard of this game and played in you'll have a hard time understanding this game.
