bought this to sleep in after shoulder surgery. I'm 8 weeks out from surgery and trying to return to my bed. this chair did what I needed it to do. I am 5'8" and 280lb. the chair was wide enough. It lays flat, but does not raise your legs up any higher than straight out. my feet would hang off the end when lying down. A pillow under my feet took care of both issues. That's my only complaint. I covered it with a blanket so I wasn't ever too hot. it is very sturdy. it has wide arms to support my surgery arm and not crowd it. it is sturdy, comfortable, and got me through a difficult time. only issue is a little short and legs need a pillow to raise them above heart for swelling. I tried many lift chairs and it seems none raise your feet above heart. the only other chair I tried that I liked too was $ 1500. this is worth the price. a local store was selling it on their display floor for $900.
This chair is high quality well-made, very comfortable and easy to assemble.
I say that because I'm only 5'1". Finally got my brown one, the store was good about that. I like the dual power movement. I have a little trouble hoisting my body back enough in the seat while reclining. I love how far down it relines. If I feel sleepy, I could easily fall asleep in it. I have 4 recliners in my couch & loveseat, but I no longer have the strength to make them recline. I needed the power this one has!
I don't like to buy furniture sight unseen but this chair checked all the boxes in what we were looking for and was available for delivery in the time frame we needed. It arrived early even, so that was great and the material is comfortable and the recliner operates smoothly and is exactly what we wanted.
I bought this for my husband when he had to have a temporary hip placed. His Physical therapist did not like the recliner we had. It has been the perfect resolve for his situation. He just had his third and final hip placed on the same side and it has been the best piece of furniture in our house. It works smoothly and the material is very handsome and sturdy. I am sure he would recommend it for anyone facing problems getting in and out of a chair!
Chair is great. The lift for the legs could be higher. Piece of cake to put together. One thing-2nd day of having it my remote stopped working. Found a button on an adapter just off the battery pack and pressed it. Voila works again—dog mustve stepped on it and shut it off.
The chair is everything I expected, comfortable, easy assembly, and easy operation.
My husband had difficulty getting out of a standard recliner so we looked for a lift chair, hoping to find one that would fit into our traditional room decor. This one does. Upholstery is nicely textured "pleather" in a slightly mottled black. It has a firm seat so he doesn't sink into a too-soft, deep chair. The lift mechanism is slow and you feel it shift left and right as it engages but it works fine. The chair was missing a side piece when delivered, but Ashley sent a replacement very quickly. We are pleased with the comfortable seating when foot is raised, a definite improvement over our old recliner.
The. Seat and back rest area feel narrow and restrictive. My shoulders are very stiff in the morning after sleeping with legs raised and extended while the back is as flat as it will go. I purchased this chair as a knee injury prevents me from sitting on my 5 year old Ashley sofa because the cushions are soft offering no support too stand from sit position.
We received this chair in January 2021 and by June, it was unusable. The spring in the seat is gone on one side, leaving a 4-8 inch swag. The only way to sit in the chair is to stuff the sunken place with a pillow. We were extremely unhappy with this purchase, given we had paid close to a grand for it! We do not know if it's the product - an Ashley chair- or the seller just gave us a dud/bad item.
