Silica Sand | Heatproof Base Layer Sand for Fire Pits & Fireplaces | 10 lbs

bought for lining bbq pit.

Just what I was looking for, it worked well for my fire pit. May need to double the amount.

i think I will like it once I get to use it. I bought the fire pit initially to use to burn junk mail and then occasionally to toast marshmallows... I don''t think this small 10 lb bag will be enough. I thought I would get some regular sand box sand or beach sand to put down first and then the silica sand on top of that. I have a small grill grate I was thinking of putting on top of that and then start by putting the pieces of paper on top and then lighting then and so on. Does that sound doable? Maybe you could make a few ppointers as to how it should or shouldn't be used? I'm still not certain.

There is alot of sand. Great color and easy to use. If for a small fireplace it's way more then you want but it's ok

Sand seems fine but the order, which was placed May 4 and supposed to arrive May 19, didnt arrive till June 7. Not a complaint about the product, simply the service. I selected Walmart over other stores because of the delivery date, and it didn't, ahem, deliver.

Does the job, but far too expensive for such a small amount-5 lb. bag didn't come close to covering the bottom of the pit. But at $25/bag, I wasn't going to buy more.

only issue was the bag was small and it took forever to come but other than that it served the purpose

Over priced

This was supposed to be 10lbs. of silica sand. I knew when I looked at it that it wasn't 10lbs., so I weighed it - a little over 6 lbs.!! It was in an unmarked clear bag with no indication of how much it weighed or what it actually was - could be 6lbs. of sand scooped up from the beach (which I could have done myself for free!). I paid just under $25 ($22.99 tax) for this!! I purchase in store and order online a lot from Walmart and have never been so appalled or disappointed in one of their products! During this difficult time of trying to find affordable ways to be entertained at home (bought this sand for a fire pit for family fun), I feel that I was ripped off! Sad, VERY Sad!!

No update on product or anything! When will it get here??
