I have been addicted to half-and-half for forever-and-a-day but needed an alternative when attempting the 17-day diet. I also wanted to see how my skin would react to no dairy for 17 days... I am beyond impressed with the taste. I expected to be so sad and for this to be a mere temporary replacement, but I can gladly say it will most likely be a permanent solution. I only wish I had tried it sooner.
Absolutely love your products. My son is allergic to dairy so he only drinks your original soy milk. I wish you could make the original one in 8oz containers so it would be easy to carry along on the go. I have only found the very vanilla and chocolate in the 8pz containers.
I just tried both original and vanilla flavors over the weekend and loved the taste! (Im normally a daily skim milk girl)......but I developed an allergic reaction to BOTH flavors and cannot drink anymore!! Im so sad! (I dont have many food allergies at all). But I still give silk 5 stars!
I have tried most milk types but I always go back to Silk original soy. It's delicious and doesn't gross me out like cows milk does. I am so happy Silk is now gmo-free and cargeenan free and its hfcs free too. The best choice for my family & I is Silk; it's better for our health, livestock's health, and the environment compared to dairy.
I have been drinking silk since it introduction. It was the one single thing that got me eating cereal. I have always hated the way milk tastes and I shied away from all food that had liquid milk, like oatmeal and cereal. I've tried the other silk flavors and keep coming back to the original. It's great to cook with too. I will substitute it in nearly all recipes that call for milk. There are a few you can't use it in like pudding and some cake mixes. I also like the fact that it is low in fat and no cholesterol, I have elevated cholesterol and I can drink this know is won't have an adverse effect. All in all it's a great product.
After my hysterectomy, there was a need for more estrogen in my system. Enter silk soy milk, stage left. It has made such a difference in my ability to relax and to not be so tense. And that is shelf stable and I can stock up without having to use my refrigerator space is such a plus.
Ever since you came out with this product my husband has drank this at home, and takes it to work in a bottle so during his break he uses it to put it on his Cheerios this is everyday.
When I first tried silk original, I wasn't fond of the taste. However, after forcing myself to have it a few more times, I absolutely love it and crave it everyday. A great plain, high protein, dairy alternative.
I bought this for my one year old who has dairy allergies. She had an allergic reaction to this soy milk -- stomach cramps, gassy, screaming, frequent night wakings. She is not allergic to soy as she has NONE of these symptoms with Organic Valley Soy Milk. We did a test and a retest with the same result. My conclusion is that there is possible cross contamination of dairy with this product. My basis to not recommend this product is solely as described above.
I used to enjoy this brand of soymilk for years until they decided to up the calcium content to 45% from 30% of RDA. Now when I drink a couple of servings worth on cereal in the morning it aggravates my arthritis. Wish they would have left well enough alone or offer the original recipe Silk as an alternative. Until then I will keep using alternate brands that have 30% calcium.
