Use it to haul my lawn mower and it works great going to use it this winter to haul my snowblower around [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Overall good product, relatively easy to assemble with very good instructions for assembly. The negatives for me are there is excess play where the platform tube assembly connects to the hitch tube assembly. What I find with the weight of the fold up ramp (loading ramp) concentrated on one side, the platform leans to that side. This is in both positions with the platform in the folded-up position as well with the platform in the down (carry) position. Closer tolerances in the tilt (fold-up) mechanism assembly will in all probability cure this or at least correct it mostly.
Ordered it, received in 3 days. Went together very easily.. my scooter just fits.Just what I wanted and needed. Thank you.
Good product. Pros are delivered non-damaged, only a few parts to put together, not to heavy, and reasonable stable with 260lb generator. Cons are the are no instructions (re bolts/pin) to place the carrier into the adapter, and there are two friction bolts that connect the hitch assembly to the carrier. If these two bolts are not tighten before every use, the carrier could detach.
I have this a 3 only for the price. I'm considering returning. It works; but it arrived with a bent side. I didn't think much of it until we used it with my Dad's scooter. The long side bent where the tie downs were connected. Maybe this is to be expected for the price.
The carrier arrived quickly for which I was thankful. It was great that it comes with a hitch adapter which I needed. I was disappointed that it arrived damaged with a bend in the frame but the installer said it was just cosmetic & wouldn't hinder the strength of the carrier. After it was installed, the carrier was pretty floppy on the hitch, so the installer suggested I add a second anti-wobble, which I purchased & had them install. I'm glad I did because it bounced so much that two of the pre-installed nuts unscrewed themselves as I drove home. I'm lucky the ramp didn't fall down. Also, the springs that hold the ramp in place will not stay screwed tight (we used Lock Tite to keep them from unscrewing all the time) Also, because of the bend in the carrier, the placement of the springs into the holes is off enough that I cannot trust them to stay in place or sometimes even get them into the holes. I'm using straps and bungee cords to keep it in place and ensure my wheelchair is safe. I'm making it work safely but I would not purchase this carrier again. I didn't expect to need so much support to make it safe.
It's strong, I'm sure it will last a long time, but I can't get it to stop wobbling back and forth, tried tightening the set bolts but won't stop, afraid might lose my scooter off the end
