Silver Spring Premium Hitch Carrier with Scooter Cover 500 lb

We really liked the quick and easy way to ordered and have the package shipped out to us. We are in the process of having it installed. We needed a riser for our hitch to make it up high enough and we are all ready to go. Makes it so much easier to load. Better that picking up in back of van. We love it.

Arrived in 5 days in 4 cartons for easier handling; Instructions make clear the assembly, 2 people make it easier to lift the pieces; Everything works as shown, especially like that it will fold up against the vehicle when not loaded. Only 1 negative, that the weld on the carrier is on the outside at the point of the hinges and prevents the ramp from folding out completely flat, however, the scooter will travel down with no problem and only needs a little assist in going up the ramp. Overall, we are pleased with the kit; only used it on one trip so far, but looking forward to more and for use locally for daily/weekly shopping, etc.

I started to look at this company on line. Then I wanted some verbal assistance I called and was greeted by a very nice sales person. They were able to answer all my questions. I place my order it arrived on time and in good condition. The instructions were a bit hard but I am not good with them either. All in all top notch.

Even though all parts were level when weight was applied it leaned towards the ramp side. Had to enlarge holes to take pins in and out when weight was applied. After first rain storm hinges on ramp rusted up even though sprayed with lube. Swing arm places a lot of weight on ramp side of carrier [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This kit arrived much faster than I expected. Nice surprise! Well packed and all parts present. Instructions could have been a little clearer when combining the swing out arm and the standard carrier. All ion all, very pleased. Picked up scooter today, and it travels very well. Overall we are very satisfied.

Went together well but when we unfolded the ramp there is excessive weld and we are unable to fold it down completely. A poor welding job. We have called the 888 number and were told that someone would call back. We have not received a return call. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Putting together the carrier together was not difficult since we watched a you-tube video. The hard part was the swing arm. We had a lot of trouble getting the bolts to line up when we were attaching the swing arm to the hitch bracket. The only thing we can think that caused the difficulty was when we attached and tightened the anti-tilt bracket and it wasn't quite level. At times it was very awkward to tighten the bolts. All we have left is to attach the carrier .

The lady in the company video made moving the swing arm and ramp all by herself so easy. It's not as easy as it looks. This is a sturdy and solid product, which is good. However, it definitely takes two people to assemble and install. I had an issue and customer service was helpful and prompt. I would recommend this to an able caregiver.

After assembling and attaching the carrier to the hitch, the carrier sags all the way to the ground. I bought this because it was made of metal and it was higher off the ground than the other ones, but the extra money was wasted at this point. Maybe it was something we did wrong, but so far I am very unhappy.

We got this in December and the powder coating is rusting through. The weld is so bad that we have trouble getting the cart on it due to it not folding out completely on ramp. It never sits level and we had it checked out at a mechanic's shop. Save your money and pass this by.
