Saves time when making a.quick dinner

This is a very good steamer. I use it to cook vegetables, rice, stew, etc. for the family. The food comes out great and fast. I don't use the pan as much and I don't have to use oil. There are a variety of features with the control panel but I keep it basic with just steaming and keeping warm. That serves the purpose for most of our meals. It's easy to use - I didn't even look at the directions. I'm glad there's a safety feature with a locking lid as it does get hot at its peak. The stainless steel construction is just what our family needs for cooking and cleaning. We hand wash the bowl half the time and put it in the dishwasher the other times. 6 quarts is plenty for a family like ours. The size is also fairly compact so that's a big bonus for a place with a small kitchen.
