Perfect solution to a trashcan in a tight spot. I only wish it had a foot lever on both ends.

Good product, especially for those of us who recycle. It keeps the dogs at sniffing distance from the things that don't go in the compost. Looks a lot better than the old plastic waste paper basket we had hidden under the sink. Now, it shines in metallic glory next to the kitchen island!

We have had the Simple Human butterfly trash can for 23 years & have had so many compliments & inquiries from guests who have used it . After many moves over the years, our can has gained a few scratches but still gets compliments. We decided to purchase another Simple Human butterfly can & couldn't be more pleased with the new updated can! The slow close is great ! The old can is still in use in a less prominent room because it still works & looks great! We wish we could purchase more things that get so much use & lasts that long. We don't have to recommend this trash can to anyone — it recommends itself!

This garbage can manages to incorporate being sleek, stylish, and functional all in one slim design. I love that it has the recycler inside, which makes my life so much easier and keeps my kitchen counter cleaner as well. The butterfly lid is so quiet. I should have bought this garbage can years ago.

We had an auto sensor lid garbage can, but our toddler played with the lid rendering it useless. We went with the traditional, non-battery operated Simple Human garbage can. It's a little pricey. It is engineered well, with the double lid opening and soft closure. The standard 13 gallon trash bags fit perfectly. So far, no fingerprints or other stains visible - we've had the can for about 3 weeks. I anticipate this can will last for decades.

I did! My newly designed small kitchen design didn't have room for garbage and recycling and this butterfly unit was perfect. It's hidden in the corner. Easy open with your feet. It's quite close and love the butterfly top open design which minimizes the height of the opened lid. I bought the Simplehuman correct sized bags and they are worth it!!! Love the newest and hard working appliance in my kitchen.

I love everything about this trash can (size, shape, amount it can hold, trash bag hidden, color, etc). Arrived in great condition, white is very pretty and clean. Took a star off because butterfly top is slightly loose and does not close evenly resulting in the two top halves looking “off” (not symmetrical) when closed. I have to shift them manually to make them line up correctly. For the price of this product, it should be perfect and not require a little adjustment each time from me. Disappointed in that aspect of the purchase. Do better Simple Human!

Great trash can. Fits my kitchen perfectly, and I like that the bag is hidden when it's closed. My one complaint is that it needs a holder on the back to hold the packs of trash bags. Seems like it would be fairly easy to have something magnetic to attach to the side or back or something that hooks into the handle on the back.

The trashcan is nice, but it's big for the amount of trash that it holds because of the wasted space around the inner container. The opening of the foot opener is rough. It opens about halfway easy and the rest of the way is harder to open. It's just not as nice as I thought it would be. It has pluses. It looks very nice. The lid closes very tight. It's easy to remove the bin liner to put on new bag liners and standard 13 gallon Trash liners fit the inner bin of the trashcan.

Watch our for the wing lid tip points... when open they can easily puncture a child's eye or take a piece out of your fingers, hand, or leg if brushed by them... it happened to me. Had to go to urgent care to stop the bleeding. I'm exchanging for a different Simple Human trash can.
