I have had (2) of the very $$$ GE pellet machines and they both failed after 2 years each. No way was I going to buy another. I see now that many companies have developed knock-offs. This machine is great. The ice does not melt in the container - I have left it overnight and it’s still frozen! It makes ice quickly. So far I am quite pleased. It is a little loud - but so were the other $$$$ machines at double the price . Great machine for the money - and at a great price .
Love this little ice maker! Setup is super easy, not tons of hard instructions. This unit fits on the counter or under a cupboard. It s virtually silent. In about 6 minutes, you get perfect, crunchy, sonic style ice! It's super easy to fill, last for a couple of days, and just 1 button to push on. I bought this on sale at Walmart, and it's definitely worth the price. l've spent more on units that barely work. If you love iced coffee, cocktails, bubbly iced soda, or just a big household, this is perfect! It makes 44lbs a day!!!
We love our ice maker! Had since June and so far it’s perfect, ice small crunchy not hollow. I have only been using RO water. The Tilt out bin is a great size for scooping. The overall height is perfect not overwhelming. The water fill is easy just slide out fill. It indicates when more water is needed. So far it’s has been perfect.
Got this as a gift for my granddaughter and her family of five. She turns it on in the morning produces enough ice for the day and it seems to be working very well right now we're preparing for Christmas Day and it's been running all day trying to stock up on ice and it's doing just fine. Very happy with this machine. Are you sure nothing? Nothing I was just no got this as a gift for my granddaughter and her family of five. Nugget ice is the best ice ;-) I actually assumed it would melt faster because of the small size but it’s actually colder than other ice makers’ ice cubes. It’s louder than I expected (not really that big of a deal) but it made a LOUD grinding noise about two weeks after first-use I never figured out. I unplugged it. Dumped the water, refilled, ran a cleaning cycle, dumped water and filled back up and it performed as advertised again. Maybe a fluke. So far, I’d buy it again but maybe get the warranty for a few bucks more “just in case”. Walmart’s awesome at returns.
Make great ice pebble nuggets however it does take a long time to be done. If you fill the container with water it takes about 2 hours more or less to be complete. Its not much noisy but you can still hear it, I don't think it makes 44.9lbs per day as stated it takes a long time to do the ice and after two rounds the machine starts to get a hot. But its a good machine to have ice for the house.
Great value. Some small kinks to work out. The water will drip through ice reservoir causing ice to clump. Water has to be refilled after each dump of ice. Holds enough ice for a 40oz Stanley so if you have multiple in house, you’ll want a larger size. Does seem to run constantly even when ice is full.
I have owned 9 different ice makers and all except one have failed in under 2 years, one lasted a bit over two years, two of them failed in less than a year, most fail in 1-2 years so make sure you buy the protection plan then you are only out the cost of the plan sales tax. This is the loudest ice maker I have owned in nornal operation, it's not deafening or anything but it is just loud enough to be annoying, so you may want to place it further away than you otherwise would The ice it makes is jot the soft cylindrical ice it shows in the proruct photos, it makes a wedge shaped ice instead (see photo) this ice is smaller and denser than the cylindrical ice which is great for drinks but harder chewing. If your unit starts squealing you need to descale it, all nugget style ice makers have this issue where they are super sensitive to scale buildup, bullet ice makers don't have this issue, to increase the time between deacaling you can use filtered water like from a zero water pitcher (less expensive) or a reverse osmosis system (expensive)
After about 2 to 4 hours of running it squeals like something’s being attacked and won’t stop until you turn it off and still takes a few minutes to turn stop. I love the size of the ice. It keeps it cold, but you can hear it outside your house when it starts squealing. I have a video of how loud it is, but it won’t let me attach it.
My wife and I go through icemakers about once every three years. This one didn’t even last four months before it started, squealing, crying, and wailing in the middle of the night. We have used over a gallon of vinegar since its purchase to clean the icemaker. We like the small nugget sized ice, but can’t get it to work properly.
