This was a gift for my niece so she would have the same machine as I do. This way I could help her as she starts her journey. I am very happy with my machine and hope she will be too. The only complaint is the buttonhole process which seems to be very complicated

I love this machine so much. It's easy to thread and works great. I offered to hem everybody's pants. If they don't need to be hemmed I will hem them and then take the hem out because it is so fun to sew on this machine. My son in law is getting the same machine because I taught him how to alter his clothes on it.

I previously owned the Brother Digital sewing machine, and I could not sew the hem on my jeans because the motor wasn't powerful enough. So, I purchased this Singer Heavy Duty 4423 machine, and I am finally able to sew my jeans with ease. This machine is super easy to use and powerful enough to sew denim without any issues.

My daughter had been using the same Singer machine I used to make some of her baby clothes. It was at least 30 years old. It worked but had seen better days. Since my daughter was making masks for anyone who needed them, I decided it was time to invest in something more reliable. Singer was reliable before so I did my research and this model seemed like the heavy duty we were looking for. So far, my daughter made many more masks and pieced a quilt she had started a decade ago. Not one problem! It's a work horse! So happy with our purchase!

I am very unhappy with the self threading mechanism. I have to physically get the needle where it belongs and the threading is! to start the process of the self threading is difficult.

I really really wanted a heavy duty singer machine. However, the one that was shipped to me is a bit disappointing. The needle position is incorrect. I said the proper button hole settings on the machine, but it will not so unless I decrease the number and make the stitches larger. The reason I purchased this machine is to make button holes and heavier materials.

I have been sewing on a machine for over 60 years, so I know how sewing machines work. This sewing machine is strange, and the instruction booklet had to be written by someone who does not have English as a first language. It is difficult to understand and does not solve your problems. I am determined to figure it out or return it!
