Really cute little container for butter you can sit out. It’ll be at room temperature all the time and you can do that. The butter does not spoil. It’s navy blue bottom but the wood top it holds two sticks of butter very nice.
I really like this dish. The size is perfect I only needed it to keep one stick of butter and that is what it does but is not crowded. There a little space around the butter which I like. My only thing is that I would have preferred not to have the knife on top but I couldn't find this size without it. Still a great dish and I am very happy with it. Also the fact it had a seal on the lid was important to me and this one has the seal.
First, it's my favorite color. Then, it arrived, and I was impressed. It's not a cheaply made butter dish. It's heavier glass. The lid fits perfectly. The only thing I don't like is that the butter knife just sits on top of the lid. I would like to have seen it 'snap' in place. Overall, still impressed and happy with my purchase.
I bought these butter dishes as gifts for family members They are very happy with them %26 I will be able to enjoy soft butter at family gatherings in the future
Quality is good but the interior is too small. Appearance and external dimensions make it look like it should take a std pkg of euro style butter or 8 oz.ofcream cheese but it only takes a std stick of US style butter.
Couple things are wrong with this item - first of all, it only barely holds one stick of butter. The top dimension is wide enough but the bottom is not. Then it actually doesn't really fit even one stick, as the lid does not close all the way. The knife on the top is a cute idea, but is impractical. Once you use the knife, now it has butter on it. If you then put it back on the top now the wood top also has butter on it. Ended up tossing it in a drawer. I do like the appearance and despite these flaws I am using it (I bake all our bread and like to have some high quality butter sitting out at toom temp). Will continue searching however.
I wanted to love this so much but the lid doesn’t work at all. It won’t stay on. No matter how we tried, it keeps popping off. We are going to use it because we like it and it matches our kitchen. We’ll just have to use it as is. Still, I would recommend it because it holds the butter better than other butter dishes. Hopefully, not all of them have wonky lids. Betty Botta bought some butter; “But,” said she, “this butter’s bitter! If I put it in my batter It will make my batter bitter. But a bit o’ better butter Will but make my batter better.” Then she bought a bit o’ butter Better than the bitter butter, Made her bitter batter better. So ’twas better Betty Botta Bought a bit o’ better butter.
This butter dish is well made , the little butter knife that comes with it is heavy duty not some cheap flimsy thing. I really loved the lid as well nice wood. The only problem is the lid does not want to stay down. The ribbing around the edges pushes the lid up so there’s no seal I wish it didn’t do that the rest of this butter dish is perfect.
I put a standard 1/4 pound Stick of butter in the dish and the lid won't close! It sits on top of the butter. I had to cut the butter in half for the lid to close . Not something I want to do when I'm ready for a new stick of butter.
The lid stays on well but the butter knife slides around and doesn’t stay in place. I found it super messy with the knife being directly on top of the lid. And it’s a hassle to wipe it clean constantly
