went to my elderly folks house and cooked dinner last week. they were surprised to see sister schuberts. (it was a super big treat when we had these when I was growing up). had not had them in years. still delicious. and in the south, you just say "sister Schubert" and everyone knows it means the yummy rolls
I look for these every shopping day. They are so hard to find. I had begun to think no one sold them anymore. They are a memory of holiday meals when I was young. My mother always made them for the family. They didn't let me down. They were as good as I remembered.
We have eaten these for years, consumed them hot or cold and love them. We also love chicken minis from a popular chicken place that is closed on Sunday. (hint hint) and since you can only get that item at breakfast decided to try it at home. We used these rolls, put the chicken nugget on them and baked as directed, brushing some honey butter on top...It is very close to the chicken minis and make a great dinner or snack time for anytime!
These aren't your average dinner roll. The round pan allows several middle rolls. They are soft inside with a perfect browning on the outside by following simple instructions. I love to warm these to eat with homemade mashed potatoes and gravy and roast beef. Perfect to "sop" up any pot liquor and gravy.
We love these expensive little rolls. Quality is great as usual, I noticed about a year ago they dropped the size of the pans and got rid of the much fought over middle roll. Price continues to climb. We used to eat these regularly, now they're relegated to special occasions. Affordable? No. Delicious? 100%.
Very soft and tasty. I let them defrost and then baked them in the oven. They are similar in taste and texture to the buns the chicken minis at chick0fila come in if you brush honey and butter on top.
These are very good yeast dinner rolls especially if you're pressed for time and are preparing a special home cooked meal. Love the ease of preparation and overall taste.
These rolls are great, I love that you get two packages. Will use them to make the little Chick-fil-A like sandwiches. They work perfect with one piece of chicken. They're very good and we will definitely buy again.
SHRINKFLATION !!!! On steriods. I have not purchased these rolls in quite some time, at least 8-12 months. I have been baking my own dinner rolls, but sometimes you just need a break and these have always been a nice shortcut when needed. I was shocked when I opened the package. I actually bought one package 2 days before this one at another grocery store . When I opened the rolls up, I though OH my they must have had a prouduction issue. These are almost half the size they used to be. So, I bought this package in hopes they would have grown up ... and no they had not. This package was the same as the other one. It would take two of these rolls they are producing now in order to equal the size of the ones I bought a year ago. Once baked these are also no longer soft %26 buttery. What a shame.
Tastes like wallpaper paste and hugely overpriced. I only bought them because some members of my family who were coming to Thanksgiving dinner said they wanted them.
