bought set of 5 to replace all the wired 2007 First Alerts that were original to the house. I put the first one up and tested it, and they actually connected with the First Alerts (good to know if just replacing 1 because not all brands interchange). I liked that they came with batteries (which were name brand, made for smoke alarms). Alarms says weather it's smoke or CO in both English and French. I did have to change the mounts, but it was easy. I would buy again
The detector seems to be good quality. It attached to the old electrical box in the ceiling and hooked to the existing wiring easily. It had no issues communicating with the other smoke detectors (of the same brand but only detected smoke) that were instilled with it. It does talk to you when the alarm is triggered. It tells you the alarm has been triggered in English first and then Spanish but the voice part of the alarm is short. The alarm and recorded voice warning are different depending on if it's smoke or carbon monoxide detected. I only gave it four stars on "value for the money" because the unit is fairly expensive not because of any defect I found.
It's hard to know how long the batteries will last, but they are lithium ion, so I expect they will last. Quality is the same as any other well known brand and installation is easy. The price for a six pack is unbeatable. They may not market these the same as what you're used to hearing about, so maybe that's why they are 20% or more less in cost.
Setup was easy, quality seems good, installation was great.

Had to replace wire harness and mounting plate because Siterwells do not fit previous Kidde setups. To replace batteries, must remove unit from ceiling each time.😵💫
The detectors has went off several time but there is no smoke or carbon monoxide not sure what caused false alarms
Piece of crap! Avoid at all costs! Nuisance alarms impossible to stop! It causes malfunctions in ALL of the interconnected alarms!!!
