We got the “Skee Ball - Retro Handheld Electronic Game” and it was a big hit for little people as well as for the big ones in our home! This game must have entertained millions and millions of people because it goes back to 1908 when it was launched and is the oldest arcade game in today's market: how awesome! My son cannot have enough of this game: he plays alone, he plays with us, his parents as well as with his friends! Because is the mini-version this Skee Ball can be moved in any room in the house, anywhere you go it can go with you. The fun incommensurable: you play over and over and never get bored! I like that is electronic, it has cute sounds and an electronic board that keeps the score for you!
I am writing this review on the Mini Skee Ball game. So this turned out to be a pretty fun game. I will note that it is very small. About a foot long all assembled. And it does not come with batteries. This has three pieces that snap together. It takes about 30 seconds to do. It is also a very nice looking little game. And I really enjoyed the different modes. I prefer the time trial mode. I also thought it was smart they made the balls out of steel. They are heavy enough that they shoot perfectly and don't go far if the do fall on the carpet. I would recommend this game. Good nostalgic fun.
We are loving the Mini Skee Ball Game! When we go out to play video games at Dave and Busters or Chuck E Cheese we always seek out the skee ball. It's such a fun game for the whole family to enjoy no matter the age. The same is true about this mini skee ball game. The whole family gets in on the action and we all take turns to see who can get the highest score. This Mini Skee Ball Game also allows us to play speed rounds to see who can get the most points shooting the fastest. The game is well built and can handle rough play by the young ones in the family. The marbles fit nicely into the ball shooter and to add extra fun the kids like to add more than one at a time. All you need to do to start playing is add the batteries for the sound and score to keep track of your game. The game comes built in the box so no assembly is required. Although it is fun to share the one game, I'm thinking it would be fun to have four of them so we all could play at the same time to really get the competitive drive going. I also love toys that keep the whole family engaged and laughing. Overall, we give this small easy to store-away toy five stars.
This game is so fun. When you turn it on it makes a sound like the balls are dropping down the ramp. I got a kick out of that. There are two different modes. One is the classic game where you play the normal 9 ball and try to get a high score. The second mode is where you get as many balls as you want and try to shoot before the time runs out. To shoot the balls you load one at a time in the front, pull back the spring like a pinball machine & launch the metal ball. You can move the shooter around to aim where you want it to go. I have played several times and have yet to hit a 100 or 30. I can hit the 50 almost every turn though. I will have to keep practicing my trick shots. After playing for 3 days, the shiny metal balls are super dull. Although we did play a fair amount, it seems like they changed very fast! I am not sure what the metal balls are made with, but not stainless steel. This toy is made in China.
The retro handheld Mini Skee Ball Game is a lot of fun. Note that although this is a toy it is labeled 6 and up as the balls are metal marbles and are quite small. There are two modes. Classic mode where you shoot 9 balls at the target which has holes that score 10,20,30,50 or 100 points to get your score and speed mode when you shoot as many balls as you can in 60 seconds. The balls return to a tray under the the launcher (see photo). The launcher spins side to side but does not have a vertical component to its motion. There is a digital battery operated score board that was accurate during my games. The game makes unique sounds depending on what you score. Assembly was easy with only simple slide and click motion required . A small Phillips screw driver is required to add the 3 AA batteries (not included). Overall this is fun little game / great for a desk or a family night! 4 stars as I found it easy to lose track of the little balls when the game is moved.
This is great for kids. Both of my kids really enjoy this. Its just like the classic game on the floor at the arcade! This would be perfect gift for boys or girls!
My son loves skeeball. My son has a similar one that was purchased at sharper image. The quality of this one seems so much better. Metal balls rather than plastic ones. It seems to have more play options also . Any time we go to chucky cheese my son runs to the skew ball game. This is a fun way for him to play a mini version anytime at home. I would recommend this game to anyone that loves skeeball.
This game is just okay. It's very cute and my kids enjoy playing it, but most of the time the ball goes into the 50 point hole. I like that it keeps an electronic score, even though it's a little hard to see since it's not back lit. There is no volume control but it's not overly loud. It would be nice if there was a place to store the balls securely inside the game for when you aren't playing.
This toy was awesome until it broke suddenly. The bottom piece broke off while our son and I were playing together. Because of this, I can't recommend this toy.
Honestly, I would have kept this but out of almost 500 shots aiming specifically for the 100 none of them went in. Kind of ruined the experience for me. Its still neat but would be much better if you could take out the white bumpers. There JUST small enough to not let the pinball in... However, if you were to buy smaller pinballs that might be the remedy.
