My 9 year old granddaughter received a gift card from Santa for Michael's (her favorite store). She loves to go and look, but was reluctant to start spending that gift card—-then she found some beautiful books teaching drawing of people, and she was immediately determined to get one of those! She was so thrilled with it, we were soon back to Michael's (fortunately it is close to her school when I pick her up) to spend the balance of her gift card on a drawing book teaching animal drawings! She had enough to buy a great sketching and drawing set of pencils and some colored pencils! She is one happy and busy young lady who rushes through her homework and chores to spend her time creating and not sitting in front of the tv or computer! The pencil set is great for a first time sketch artist as each one is clearly labeled; the range of lead sizes is incredibly useful for line drawing and the eraser is definitely a valued necessity. The overall price is perfect for this set and this brand will definitely be a go-to for my drawing needs!

A nice surprise! I was actually looking for a good sharpener. If the sharpener is not the exact size of the pencils wobble will end up breaking the tip off. I was certain that the Artist Loft sharpener would be an exact fit, and was. And its an exact fit for my more expensive colored Faber Casteell pencils. But the wide range of pencils from the darkest 8B to the lightest 4H have been great to work with, I should have gotten this set long ago. And there were two kinds of erasers vinyl and knead, 2 blending stumps and a tortillon in this one package. It's a good buy and a great addition to the supplies I have.

Great value for what you get. Looks like pencils were sharpened w/a knife instead of a sharpener so I tested the sharpener on the pencils and it smoothed that jagged look of a pencil being sharpened with a knife. I wish it had been pared with a case. Overall quality of pencils are good. I'm happy.
