SKIL 5280-01 15 Amp Corded Electric 7-1/4'' Circular Saw

I really didn't need a new corded circular saw but my other one is an extremely heavy worm drive that is becoming hard to handle at my age (70s). This Black Friday sale had a decent price on this one. Although not a lightweight it is considerably lighter than my other saw and much easier when doing a quick cut or small project. It's plenty powerful and the laser is an added bonus! Never had a saw with a laser.

Powerful, easy to use, consistent saw. The first circular saw I've purchased and I'm very pleased with it. I did replace the blade it came with pretty quickly with a Diablo blade, but I find the laser guide to be accurate. Weight is good—light enough to use it for awhile but heavy enough to feel sturdy and stable. Great value.

Strictly for light work. The laser is a gimmick, really. You will end up either using the usual notch at the end of the foot plate or bending to the size and watching the blade follow the line. It's a right-angled circular saw which means cutting on the line perfectly is more luck than skill. The quality of the saw is excellent, what is consistent with this brand. The one minor negative is that the saw comes with a rip blade but does not come with a rip fence. Used to be a common included accessory. Oh well.

Have run a variety of Skil electric circular saws on and off for about 35 yrs. They are a great quality saw for the fraction of the price as the name brands. Offering 15 amp motor with power to spare. Very well worth the money. Highly Recommended

i find that it works as well as most high end saws, in fact it is comparible to most. The laser sight helps immensely in keeping everything squareandon the line. Drawback is that you cannot wholly shut it off

As a woman, but very capable, it's just my size and weight! The red laser beam can't be beat-helps make PERFECT CUTS! The design %26 easy maneuverability allows me to not have to also deal with big clunky weight while cutting. This is my second time buying, ignorantly gave last one away when moved here. Got one now! I've even turned down offers to loan me another, until I could buy this again, but this one is too perfect.

I am happy with the purchase. The saw is powerful for my needs and is well built in comparison with other offerings by different manufacturers at the price point. The laser is a nice feature but wish Skil would have included a rip guide. Some of us actually still use them.

I purchased the skill saw because it was on sale. I also purchased a rip fence from Acme so that I would be able to make parallel cuts in the wood beam. in fact I called skill saw and they gave me the exact model number of the compatible rip fence. there are a number of rip fences and for different models of the skill saw. When the rip fence arrived I found it would not fit into the skill saw. I called skill saw customer service and they found that this was manufactured in 2023. I have no idea how it was sitting on Walmart's shelves for 2 years. After quite some trouble I obtained the replacement skill saw from the manufacturer directly. This was a bad experience for me.

The factory failed to include two small screws that hold the arbor assembly to the body of the saw. I struggled to use this thing until I realized what the issue was and I'm lucky to not have been hurt. Not only crazy unsafe, but renders the tool useless. As the blade wobbles it's impossible to cut a straight line and the blade gets pinched between the saw body and the blade guard

I did not get it yet and what is really sad is you do not even know it. Your delivery service is delaying it and you do not even know that. Think about how many customers they are doing this to and you do not even know.
