SKIL 7.5 Amp Variable Speed Reciprocating Saw

This is a really good saw, I have a older version and had some concerns that this one would be as good. I am not use to the blade lock on this saw and had trouble getting the blades to lock in only to find out it was the blades that were the problem. The cut on the end of the blade that goes into the lock was wrong and not allowing the blade to go in all the way. Tried another brand and it locked in. I looked at other brand saws but always came back to skill.

Brought this saw for cutting thick tree roots I can't get at with a chain saw, also to cut the top off a metal barrel, works great.

We are in the middle of a serious remodel and I needed a smaller reciprocating saw because I have small hands. This one works great and is easy to control!

Saw is powerful enough for the dismantling of pallets which were composed of very hard lumber such as oak and maple along with multiple nails which were almost impossible to pull. The saw cut through all of the above, helping to make the job possible within a reasonable amount of time. I used an all purpose long blade.

Love, love, love it. I have a lot small trees that have come up on their own while I was not able to look after my lawn. I have cut down everything from 1" to 6" diameter trees. It is light enough that I can easily use it even though I have arthritis in my hands. I am reclaiming my back yard!

I used this saw with a 9" wood blade to cut down hedge bushes we were replacing and it worked great. The click lock blade is super nice. Has a great cord length and the rotating head makes it easy to adjust your cutting angle. Best of all is the blade speed control. It lets you cut as fast or slow as you need instead of just wide open. Skil set the bar high with their 5 year warranty.

I really enjoy using my saw. It's user friendly. I like the blade quick release. My old saw ued an allen wrench for blade replacement. Now it only takes a few seconds. I've been using it for a few weeks and would recommend this saw.

When my old reciprocating saw died, I got this one at a discount store. It is better than my old one. It cuts through metal and wood very easy (with a good blade). This saw might cost a little more than some others, but it is worth it.

The saw does well, just what it is supposed to do, and I am for the most part content. My main concern in purchasing was that I wanted a "Work" saw that would feel comfortable in use and would be rugged enough to be used outside. One of the tasks that I would be using the saw for would be cutting exposed tree roots. For the most part, the saw performed well although it is a little under powered for this type of operation. Even the smaller tree roots, two inches or less in diameter, would cause the saw to "Power Down" and the saw would have to be eased up from cutting the root. Perhaps a higher horse power saw would have been better. At that, I now own the saw and am content enough where I would again purchase the same saw.

this is a good reciprocating saw for someone who needs to occasionally saw something, but doesn't want to spend 100 bucks. not too heavy, so it's easy to maneuver. would recommend earplugs for the sound.
