Solid build, power, good battery life. Only knock would be changing the blade with an easy-to-lose small Allen wrench. But 5 stars for price/performance.
Purchased this tool to retrofit a door frame with a kerf into which to insert weatherstrip. The door jamb was already in place, but I didn't have a sawblade thin enough to make a kerf snug enough anyway. I tested it a bit ( had never used an oscillating tool before), then went to work. Would have been better to have a slightly thicker blade, but after some practice I was able to cut a nice kerf in the cedar posts. The tool is easy to use, the power control is nice, it is well-balanced. And the sanding attachment was perfect for erasing the scuff marks left by the blade.
Easy to use and change out heads as needed. It's very versatile for all the projects I've used it for.
I owned a couple of cheap, wired oscillating saws and I was tired of the uncomfortable weight and the inconvenience of the wire, I decided to try the Skil 20V and after the first use I could not go back to the wired ones..I love the light weight, and it cuts really good and smooth
As the battery is reaching the end of its life, the user isn't getting full power from the motor. I found this out while sanding and when I changed batteries, it came back to life. I didn't notice it was running at reduced power until I heard and felt the difference after changing the battery. I was probably running the tool at reduced capacity for about 10-15 minutes. The battery life indicator on the back of the battery showed I still had one and a half bars left. I thought there would be a shut off instead of the tool running in reduced mode.
My Skil 20V Oscillating Multi-tool with 2.0Ah lithium battery has been a great resource to me on several projects. Cutting out old siding to be replaced on my house, chiseling grout where tile will be replaced to sawing an old tree piece into a piece of art. Long lasting battery and quick to recharge. Extremely versatile tool.
I have only used my oscillating saw for a small project, but I foresee it being very helpful for squaring up inside corners and I think that I might be able to use it to remove caulking in my bathroom prior to a recaulking.
not as impressive as the 12v product line but it does do it's job. probably would be alot better in the brushless version. I haven't used this much but I do like the concept and capability of this tool. it comes with a zipper pouch with belt loop that holds your Allen key, blades and sanding pads/attachment and other accessories which I thought was excellent. the build quality for this model wasn't up to my standards, I've only used this thing not even a handful of time and I've already had some issues with both the drive motor screws backing completely out and lodging themselves into the cooling fins, seizing up everything pretty adequately. looks like there wasn't any lock tight applied to the screws which allowed them to vibrate out ..I've repaired it for now. that would be the only flaw I see so far
Why isn't there an easier way to attach blades, so they stay put.
I ordered mine paid for it said it was delivered never received it. Wish I knew how it worked cause I really needed it for a job, but I had to take another day and go buy another one from a different store at higher price lost full day of work waiting on it to come then I was told I had to wait 3 days before I could even file the return/ refund had to go out buy different one so much confusion lost time and money but hey Walmart gave me my money back so awesome cause what's time when there full money back refunds
