SKIL PWR CORE 40V Brushless 16-Inch Multi-Head String Trimmer with 4.0Ah Battery and 60W Charger, PLT1500C-13

I have always used Stihl gas powered trimmers. As I have gotten older, mixing non-ethanol fuel, pulling the rope and hoping it will start without a lot of issues has become a problem. My neighbor showed me his Skil trimmer and what it would do (cut through tall grass and even cut 1/4 inch branches off his bush and I was sold. Went home and ordered mine from Wal-Mart that evening about 7pm and it was here a before noon the next day. Easy setup and just charged the battery. It came with .065 string and will hold .095. After trimming the whole front of my home, the flower beds, and trimmed a bush, I still had 3 of 4 bars left on the 40v battery. Love it!!

I purchased the string trimmer to complement my skil electric chain saw. I am very pleased with both. The string trimmer has plenty of power and the battery lasts quite well. I am planning to add the pole saw attachment to the string trimmer. The skil battery tools all use common batteries and charger

Love the tool. As always, SKIL delivers. My single complaint is that it is heavier than my old one (which was several years old). The weight limits the time I can work with it because the weight is hard on my shoulders over too much time. I wouldn't trade it though. I just wish it was lighter.

This trimmer weighs pretty lite and easy to use. The assembly and storage is great and easy. The durability of this trimmer seems pretty good. I have an other brand Yellow one. that is the same can change the attachments out. That other brand stuff works on the.

The power on this was incredible. I was shocked how well it did. It had more power than my gas weed wacker, and it was a real trooper cutting down weeds and younger trees. It was a little louder than expected being battery operated but its still much quieter than gas. Holding this for a long period of time may get heavy but I had no issues doing our entire yard without. I expected it to be much heavier with the big battery attached. As of now the battery life lasts quite a while. We've only had to recharge it once and it'll be several weeks before we have to do it again. I thought the vibration was very minimal. I thought it felt very smooth. One thing to watch for is if you are weed wacking higher and you lower, like on a curb, put it on the lower setting because the rocks and extra stuff it flings up hurts. Never had an issues with my gas one, but it's because it has so much power. It slashed my weed wacking time in half easily.

This trimmer is 3 times as heavy as my gas trimmer. The trigger mechanism is a stretch for smaller hands to operate. And the operation time for the battery is 22 minutes after the first full charge. I wanted to love it but it's like wielding a push mower without wheels to cut grass!

Great machine. Lots of power. So far, used three times on a third acre property without changing the line. It cuts so well, it hardly uses any line at all. Three previous machines all were awful. Can't see a time when I'll ever buy another brand.

Really appreciate the ease the Twist Load head offers for line loading, and the dual-line bump feed keeps things moving. It's just that the overall tool feels a little bulky.

The Twist Load™ head is a game-changer for reloading line! It's so easy to use and really speeds up the job. Couldn't be happier with how it performs.

This trimmer is amazing! I can switch easily to other SKIL tools, thanks to the attachment-ready power head. Plus, the battery compatibility is spot on. Makes yard work a breeze.
