If you have small hands, this is the router for you!!! Great power - so far I am really liking this router.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently moved into a new home and are so excited to start on renovation projects. This tool will be so helpful when wanting to precise and to add detail. It will also be fun to experiment with other projects. I love that there is an accessory kit and that the battery is universal with other Skil products!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This router is super handy for cleaning up edges. The battery runs for longer than expected. The 3 bits it came with were a perfect mix of commonly used bits. I am excited to use the rounded edge trim bit!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first router I've owned, I thought it very simple to put together. I appreciated the extras the kit comes with like the battery & charger, vacuum adapter and bits. It's a nice, compact size perfect for my DIY projects. I did a couple practice rounds and found it easy to adjust to using. It has a nice, smooth cut and the quide is nice.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In short, the SKIL RT1430B-10 Brushless Compact Router Kit has exceeded my expectations. It is a versatile, powerful and comfortable tool, ideal for those looking for a reliable and easy-to-use option. The only drawback I could point out is that compared to some basic models, its price is a bit higher, but considering the performance and durability of the brushless motor, it is definitely worth the investment. If you are a DIY enthusiast or a professional who needs a powerful and durable tool, this router is an excellent choice and very safe when it comes to use.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 20v will you running for a while. Easy to switch tools and adjust speed on the electronic panel. Led light at the point of action is really handy too! Comparable, if not, better than name brand especially due to price point. Easy to creat fixed level projects and plunge level too
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a game-changer for woodworking. Its powerful 1 HP motor and ergonomic design ensure smooth, precise cuts. With a variable speed dial and quick depth adjustments, it offers unrivaled control. The included battery delivers impressive runtime, allowing you to tackle multiple projects on a single charge. Plus, the soft start feature protects your work, and the LED light enhances visibility in low-light settings. The bonus 3-piece router bit set makes this kit versatile for any job. Overall, this compact router kit is a fantastic tool for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My father (now retired) was a laborer and carpenter throughout his career but now that he's retired, he's been restless to pick up a hobby along the lines of the work that he misses. He drives us all a little crazy, tooling around the house with nothing to do so I've really been looking into the affordability of woodworking tools such as a lathe and… I'll be honest, I had no clue what a router was, aside from the sort that my tech relies on for an internet connection. I asked my dad and his eyes lit up and he said ‘I've been wanting one for a while now!' so that sealed the decision to try one out. If you're like me, a router is a power tool designed to create those finished edges on doors, furniture or even the notches in shelving, so it has both an aesthetic and functional flexibility. The verdict from my dad is that it's a terrific hobby tool. It may not hold up to the professional grade ones (he said hobby ones often have shorter lived batteries) but upon looking at the design of the tool itself, he's really impressed with how effective it is. He said it's absolutely perfect for what he would be using it for and has some doors to tackle with it. It does come with router bits but is capable of handling both half and quarter inch bits, to my understanding, so you can kit it out for miniature furniture or those beautiful behemoth of armoires, depending on your ambition. I personally like the easy way it stacks and reminds me a lot of my dremel tool on a larger scale, with different attachments. It has the stability a small hand tool doesn't. The battery is easily removable and chargeable, no issues with the length of time it holds a charge. Like my dad mentioned, it's great on the hobby needs, you just might need backup batteries or even rest times in between (to avoid overheating) to churn out constant pieces. So that would be the verdict. Great build, meant to do everything a router should handle, perfect for the beginner hobbyist or seasoned worker just looking to tinker in retirement. Not a very intimidating tool, even if you had no clue they existed before needing one. Skil brand tools are worth checking out!
I was using my skil router outside. I accidentally left the router outside in the pouring rain for two weeks. I took the router inside and let it dry out for a day. The battery still had 3 bars. Next, day I tried the router. It worked perfectly. I like the router. The fine tune adjuster is great. It has plenty power for a small trim router. The only complaint I have is I wish it came to a stop quicker. I would buy this again.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn't exactly sure what this was until I got it. But it can be used for so much, but in my case, I used it to fix the ends of my dining room, which smoothed them out nicely and quickly. I can't wait to find another project to use this tool on.
