I check out a lot of cd's %26 dvd's from the library. A lot of them are scratched and will not play. Used to just stick a not on them telling the library they would not play. Sometimes the rarer ones the library system may only have one copy so I purchased this item as a replacement for the original system I bought a year ago. It workes great, but the directions tell you to make one revolution of the disc I.ve learned you have to make at least 2 revolutions and if really scratched I'll make 3. Very seldom will the disc not play after that. If it still does not play I just make a couple more revolutions. Don't just make one revolution and get frustrated if the disc will not play. Make more turns. I don't even tell the library I'm doing this. What they don't know wont hurt them. And I return the disc in working order. Oh, and it's free. And when you stream you don't get the bloopers or special features. Gettysburgh is a great movie, but the special features put it over the top.
A mine was worried about years old, easy to replace work's great
My machine needed a new replacement and it worked better than the original one
Worked as advertised and then some
It works great. I had old CDs and DVDs that now work. My old cleaning wheel stopped working and the new one does the job.
The replacement kit came as described and is great. The problem is the skip Dr machine. I thought the new kit would help the machine but it still stops working halfway through a cleaning even with brand new batteries.
I haven't had to use it yet, but everything I'll need is there
Replaced my old cleaning wheel. Worked fine.
Worked well enough on one or two DVDs, but then you need a new wheel. I thought about taping on a band of fine grit emery paper, but turned to a different DVD scratch removal kit with flexible foam mounted graduated grit emery paper instead. I use that, starting with the least coarse grit that will get to the bottom of the scratch and then work my way up to finest grit. Then dampen a rubber buffing disk with a fluffy tie-on pad in my hand drill with some Macguire's headlight polishing liquid on it. Takes about the same amount of time in the end, and I've done a dozen or more disks with it, sometimes only needing the Macquire's part. Price is great if you only need to do a disk or two.
I'm not sure if this product will work for anyone else but, it didn't work for me. I never used product because the main unit wouldn't turn the disc or rotate with a disc installed. This item is a replacement part.
