Skullcandy Barrel Mini Bluetooth Boombox Speaker, IPX7 Waterproof, 12-Hour Battery, LED Lights, Multi-Link, True Wireless Stereo

A great speaker! It is loud when it needs to be, with great sound quality. I can hear it playing on the first floor when my partner is using it in the basement. It is IPX7 Waterproof (which means it is protected against temporary, shallow water drops, but does not mean it is waterproof at any depth or for any length of time) so it can't go IN the shower, but it's perfect for sitting on the bathroom counter during a shower so you can listen to music or a podcast. My other favorite feature is the power bank feature. You can charge other items off the speaker from a USB-C outlet. It is pretty heavy, weighing in at 6.2 lbs (2.79 kg), so I'm not sure how practical the shoulder carrying strap actually is. Maybe for going from the car to the beach or the fireworks, but it's a bit heavy to be carrying around on my shoulder all day long. The shoulder strap is quite thick and heavy duty however, feels like good quality. The box comes with the Barrel Mini, the shoulder carrying strap, a USB-C to C cord, a user manual and a quick start guide.

This is an exceptionally great wireless speaker it charges fast Bluetooth connect and it has a extremely exceptional range and is portable tested it out by paring to my desktop computer and turned on the tunes and took it outside we walked away from my Apartment Approx 275 feet to back parking area, and I live in a 2-story apt building that's just Awesome Crisp Clear sound well rounded bass sound this will be a great addition to have in home and when out camping I great price and the Light Show well that is just a bonus

This speaker is a happy size somewhere between an average Bluetooth speaker and a full size boombox. The included handle and swap-able carrying strap make this thing very portable and easy to take with you. It's waterproof so you don't have to worry about taking it outside. It's excellent for music on outdoor summer days around a campfire, or even just listening to a speaker giving a speech. The audio is crystal clear, no distortion. Bluetooth works flawlessly, the range is great. It's easy to pair to your phone and start playing music immediately. It's even got some nice aesthetic features. The RGB lights can be set to flash along to the audio, with tons of different presets and color options, which gives it some extra flair. Speaking of cool features, It also has SKDY Multi-Link technology to sync multiple speakers together to the same audio source for an even more immersive experience. I was initially concerned about the somewhat interesting shape of this speaker, while it's aesthetically pleasing, I was worried it might be easy to knock over. Though after testing it, I can tell you that it actually sits quite well on the ground, with enough heft that it won't be easily knocked over. It's clear that some thought was put into the design and that shows. The battery is huge and battery life lasts for days, this also means that it can take a while to charge. Keep a decently powerful USB-C AC adapter with you, trying to charge from just a computer's USB port will take forever. Once the battery of the speaker has a decent charge, you can also use it's USB-C port to charge your phone or tablet, which is an added bonus. When the volume is cranked up, this speaker can shake the walls of your house. It's very powerful. All in all, for the price this speaker is an excellent value and I can confidently recommend it.

Love this speaker! For some reason, I assumed this would be a small, palm-sized unit, but it is a monster! I would actually consider it more of a small Bluetooth "boombox" akin to the 80s and 80s portable systems. This speaker is super heavy duty, and feels like a premium piece of electronics. It connected to my iPhone very easily, in a matter of seconds. The sound quality is fantastic, and it gets super loud if you want it to (for parties, football tailgates, etc). The battery life is excellent, and I also enjoy the different lighting effects on the front light bar. Very happy with this item, and I can't wait to use it more.

I absolutely love this speaker. It was heavier than I expected when the package arrived, but it is still light enough to easily carry around. It did not come with a carrying case. It came with a hand held strap that can be removed (Velcro) or clip on shoulder straps. Both seem to be really well made and can support the weight of the boombox. I love the light show that plays while the music is going. It also has a light for visual of the charging. It comes with the charging cord but not a power cube. The music sounds great through this speaker. I have used this in a loft style room and also in a gym for my rec cheerleaders to dance with. This speaker is worth the money.

This is my first SkullCandy product and I am very impressed. The sound quality is above and beyond my expectations, especially after my last Bluetooth speaker from another brand was a disappointment. The mini, is bigger amd heavier than I imagined, but it is not cumbersome to carry. The carry handle is well thought out. I listened to it today outdoors for two hours and it still had 75% battery left.

My first thought was that it is a lot heavier than it looks in the picture! I had expected something super light and even smaller but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It's called a barrel but it doesn't sound like a hollow barrel. Even the strap has some weight to it, really nice metal clips and such. I easily paired it up to my computer via Bluetooth, if you're listening to youtube, you can go forward and back without walking back to your computer. I wouldn't mind it being louder (I'm wild, lol) but it links up with other devices which is great! I did check the directions for what the buttons do beyond turning on, pairing, playing, etc. The main reason I wanted this is to have a decent sound while out in the garden and not have to worry about the speaker getting wet in a sudden rain storm that often pops up in the spring and I keep working and it will do exactly that and then some.

I was a little surprised that this speaker didn't have a 3.5mm hole if you wanted to hook up audio that way to it. The manual is kind of lacking and it doesn't explain the features like what "battery boost" or "multipoint" does, etc. It would be nice if you could control the brightness of the lights permanently because they were pretty bright. I do like that it is waterproof and the ability to use it as a power bank is really nice. I also like that you can press the button down and it will say out loud what the battery percentage is. The usb c cable they give you is pretty cool looking too.

It's decent, but there are better options. The battery life and IPX7 rating are awesome, but the sounds quality is on par with the skullcandy brand, a solid mid tier company and product. If you like that it lights up and has a carrying strap, then this speaker is for you. Otherwise, if you want a speaker that produces better vocals and instrumentals, look elsewhere. My $150 Logitech UE Megaboom from 10 years ago produced better sounds side-by-side and it was immediately obvious the Skullcandy was not superior.

The Skullcandy Barrel Mini Party Boombox Speaker offers solid build quality and useful features, but its performance doesn't fully match the price point. Cons: -Average sound quality – The sound is acceptable, but not impressive for the price. -Charging adapter not included – A 30-watt adapter is required but was not included with mine, meaning an additional purchase is necessary. -Value for cost – Given the price, I expected better sound performance and for all necessary charging components to be included. Overall, it's a decent speaker with good durability and battery life, but the sound quality and missing charging adapter make it feel slightly overpriced for what you receive.
